The dinner table was silent. Giyu refused to make eye contact with me, and I refused to talk to Kanao. Kanae was just there. After returning home with the takeouts, she noticed how Giyu and I stayed a thorough 6 feet apart. Neither of us had COVID, so it was clear to her to assume that something happened between us.
Kanao didn't know how to keep her mouth shut, which made it even more obvious.
"They were making out." She snitched.
That damn girl didn't know how to keep her mouth shut.
"We only kissed ONCE!" I interjected.
"So you're admitting you kissed Giyu." Kanae said, smirking. Oh, woeful old me, digging my own grave.
So now all of us are together, on Kanae's insistence, and quite awkwardly.
"I have to go. Friends." Giyu said, standing up and grabbing his coat.
"You have friends-" Kanao asked curiously, but thankfully, Kanae covered her mouth.
"Ahem! Don't mind her! Have fun and don't be out too late! Shinobu gets worried-"
Now I was covering Kanae's mouth.
"Um...sure." Giyu said, putting on his coat and walking out. His face said it all. The awkwardness was killing me.
After he left, I looked at Kanao and glared. "Why the hell did you say that?!"
Kanae got in between us just as I was about to slap something.
"Hey, hey, HEY!" She yelled, pointing at me. "Tensions are high, Kanao, go to bed. Shinobu, help me clean up.
I sighed, grabbing the takeouts and throwing them away. Then, I cleaned the tables.
Ugh. I hated this.
As time went by, I kept wondering where Giyu was.
He's okay...right?
Giyu Tomioka
"So...is it like a situationship?" Makomo asked as we entered the mall together.
"Don't you have to have se-"
"Shut up. We're in public." I muttered, shoving Sabito. He gave me a very dramatic, very theater kid like wounded look. I turned to Makomo, not engaging myself in his dramatics. "And sorta?"
"Damn. You're really down bad for her." Sabito said. "I can't remember the last time you even looked at a girl and yet now you suddenly have a girl you want to propose to? Just wondering, why did we decide to meet at the mall? Makomo is going to go crazy."
"Sabito, I don't remember you recommending any other place." Makomo said jokingly, poking him. "Why don't we look around for something for Giyu to confess to Shinobu with?"
"A ring?" Sabito asked.
"I'm not proposing to her." I grumbled, stumbling to get on the escalator with the slight lack of energy.
"Geez. Y'all are in a bad mood." Sabito said cheerfully. More like he was in a great mood.
"Someone told me to meet up at my needed beauty sleep time." Makomo complained. Ha. I scoffed and as we were walking, Makomo halted in her tracks, causing both of us trailing behind her to crash into each other. Snapping out of my fatigued state, I looked around frantically, trying to find why Makomo had stopped.
Makomo's face lit up. "What about that Giyu! Do you think you know her cup size!?"
Sabito took one look as he got up, and burst out laughing.
"Makomo, you really are something." Sabito said, chuckling. Looking at what Makomo was pointing to, I flushed.
"A bikini and underwear?!" I said in disbelief. Makomo giggled and I grumbled. That was not funny (except to them).
Victoria's Secret was not built for the likes of me.
Makomo smirked. "I'm kidding. Let's look around. Maybe we'll find something." Sabito tried not to smile. Makomo edged closer to Sabito as the background noises of the food court seemed to have faded between them.
Damn I was hungry. The food court has Panda Express. I looked over at Makomo and Sabito.
Then hell froze over.
Because I saw Makomo interlock her fingers with Sabito.
"Um...hi? Hello?" I said, waving my hands frantically. Fuck, what do you do when your two best friends are flirting with each other?!
"Hm-oh hi Giyu." Makomo blinked and staggered slightly. Awkwardly, I looked away.
"Ahem, let's just go home." I muttered, starting to walk to the mall doors. Anything to get away from the awkwardnness.

After shopping, I did a quick detour to work. As I entered the building, I went on my phone and walked to Kayaga's office.
And stopped.
Isaw Tsutako was back on her feet. My heart relaxed a little as I knew my sister was well again. I walked in over to her office.
"Hey sis." I said, knocking on the door. Tsutako looked up, and then opened the door. She looked extremely well, and looked the same as usual. A huge chunk of my worries instantly evaporated.
"Hey!" Tsutako said in a bright tone. I froze for a quick moment before walking into her office.
Something was off. Was it because of the surgery?
"What's going on Giyu?" Tsutako asked. I grinned and looked straight into my eyes. She didn't flinch.
Nahhhhhh. My sister knows I don't smile at all.
"Nothing sis. How was the surgery?" I asked, trying not to fidget as I was looking at Tsutako.
"It was okay, um, um yeah!"
Tsutako hated when I kept saying ums. There were just too many things off. Tsutako was way too cheerful, she didn't act like herself, and she kept the door closed. Keeping the door closed meant that the room would be stuffy, hot, and also, make an escape route harder. Also, Tsutako says she can hear rumors and what's going on in Kayaga's office better.
I nodded to Tsutako and said, "well, have a good night sis." Then walked out as quickly as possible. Stumbling out, I ran to my car and closed the door, breathing heavily.
Who the hell was that person?
