There was a light knock on the door before it opened, "Hey!" Heng greeted.

Nam smiled widely, "Hey Heng. Come on in!"

"How's she?" He asked walking inside.

"Not good!" Nam sighs joining him, "Lyra is the only reason I think she's holding on."

He nodded in understanding, "Becky is not allowed any visitors?"

"No!" Nam shook her head, "I don't think they have been apart like this ever since they met."

"I think this time apart will help Becky in a good way." Heng said, while Nam looked at him with concern, "But it's doing the opposite for Freen. She is miserable." She said frowning.

"I suppose a part of it is due to her past experience, you know one minute everything was fine and the next, her entire life crumbled." He sighs heavily, "She lost her husband and found out she had been living a lie all along. She must be terrified everything is changing again." Heng pointed out.

Nam sighs, "Or losing Becky."

Heng looks at her with unease, "I think she was already losing her. Becky was going down a path of no return."

"Heng?" Came Freen's surprised voice, startling them both.

"Hey Freen!" Heng greeted.

"It's a nice surprise." Freen says as she wraps him in a hug.

Heng sighs pulling back and looking between them, "I'm afraid I have some bad news."

"Oh!" Freen looked at him curiously, her eyebrows furrowing a little before she gestured him forwards, "Why don't you sit? I'll get you something to drink."

"No, No. It's fine. Can we just talk?" He says taking a seat on the couch.

"Sure. What's wrong?" Freen asked sitting down herself.

"It's about the trial." He said.

Freen's eyes widen in shock, "He appealed again?"

"He did."

"I thought we had strong evidence? What changed?" Freen asked, biting her lip in worry.

"He's gonna blame everything on Mr. Armstrong." He says, his distress evident in his voice, "He's probably gonna say he was acting on orders from him. Since the entire business is under the Armstrongs it won't be that hard to convince the court." Heng explains further.

"Fuck!" Freen froze, her worry turning into a frown, "But he's dead, he can't defend himself from the grave."

"That is exactly what changed, why he appealed to the court again." He adds.

"And you are sure the evidence we have won't be enough?"

"The ledger Saint took exposed some big names, but none of the accounts involved in the money laundering was connected to Sunny directly. The other charges will be easy to absolve if he says he was only acting on orders."

"What can we expect?" Freen asks.

"He's probably gonna be released on time served." Heng says apologetically.

Freen's head snaps back up at him, "Just three years for all that he did?"

"I know it's not fair. But at this point I don't know what else we can do." He reaches out and squeezes her hand.

Freen huffs in frustration standing up.

"You guys tried your best. Atleast you all are safe." Nam reaches for her friend's arm who turns away from the touch roughly and started pacing.

"Wait!" Freen stops in her tracks, suddenly looking at Heng with panic, "Becky is the current CEO, if he's gonna blame the Armstrongs is it gonna affect her in any way?"

Heng shakes his head, "I don't think so. Neither Richie nor Becky was involved in the business back then. So probably not. But their company is gonna take a huge hit. And in Becky's absence I don't know how bad it's gonna be."

Freen takes a deep breath, "You are saying it's the worst time for Becky to be away."

"Unfortunately." He says sadly.

Freen looked down, pursing her lips and fidgeting with her hands. "What am I supposed to tell her? I can't just force her to recover fast. I'm not even sure if I should tell her anything at all."

"I don't think you should." Nam says.

"Nam's right. You shouldn't. Becky's recovery is more important." Heng adds.

Freen clears her throat, hoping the lump in it would just go away, but it doesn't, "What the hell should I do then?"

"Wait. All we can do is wait." Heng insists.

Freen looks at him sharply, "Wait for him to be free again? The person who was the reason for what happened to Saint. I saw those girls, the fear in their eyes, it must have been so horrible for them to go and sell their body for mere survival. He hurt so many people, killed so many. How many people is he gonna hurt if he goes free? He needs to be stopped." She snapped.

Heng reaches out this time, holding Freen's shoulders and making her look at him, "Freen, you can't think like that. You can't involve yourself in this anymore than you already are."

Freen closed her eyes and shook her head, biting the inside of her cheek, "He knows Becky is involved. She testified against him."

He nods in understanding, "If he goes free, I don't think any of you guys are safe. Especially Becky."

"What if he goes after Lyra?" Her eyes sting with tears, but she tells herself not to cry. She can't cry, she has to be strong enough for Lyra.

"Freen...you need to calm down." They tried to reassure her immediately.

"How can you tell me to calm down.." Freen snapped but before she could say anything else, everything slowly faded to black, she found herself succumbing to darkness.

"Freen?" Heng cried out reaching for her just in time before Freen could hit the floor.

"Freen!!" He tries to wake her up to no avail.
