Freen had been waiting for this moment for a long time. She feels a tightness in her chest, like everything is being pressed down by a force. It's been over a month since she's seen Becky, heard her voice, or held her. But none of that matters now; the only thing that counts is that the three of them are finally going to be together after what feels like an eternity.

This past week has been terrible, and all she wanted was Becky. She doesn’t mind the wait anymore. She can handle a few more minutes after waiting so long.

Freen wanted to be here to welcome Becky, along with Lyra and all their friends. They are standing in front of the institution, waiting for Becky to come out at any moment. Freen has no idea what to expect. Is Becky better? Is she okay? She knows nothing.

"Relax," Nam tells Freen. "She's almost here, and she'll be fine."

Freen's eyes are fixed on the door. She’s been pacing and checking the time for nearly an hour. Finally, she sees a flash of brown hair, and her heart stops before racing faster than ever. There is Becky, with vibrant yet tired eyes that Freen loves so much. A grin stretches across Freen’s face, and her eyes start to water. Before she can think, her body moves on instinct.

Becky is home, finally home, and Freen's excitement overwhelms her. She’ll blame it on the hormones later. After waiting over a month to throw her arms around Becky, she rushes forward and hugs Becky tightly. Becky stumbles back, grunting as her duffel bag hits the ground. But Freen doesn’t care; she buries her face in Becky’s shoulder, squeezing tightly and grabbing the fabric of Becky’s hoodie.

"Welcome back!" Freen sniffles, her voice muffled by the soft, warm fabric. Becky grins widely, tears welling in her eyes as she hugs Freen back, gently wrapping her arms around her. Freen's hair tickles Becky’s nose. She tilts her head to kiss the top of Freen's head, then glances at Lyra, who has jumped up from the ground and is jogging over.

Keeping one arm around Freen, she makes space for Lyra to join the hug. Lyra doesn’t hesitate. "We missed you!" she says cheerfully.

Becky scans the crowd of friends, all with smiles on their faces. She feels grateful to have them by her side. She smiles and nods, silently thanking them for being there.

The three of them are reunited after being apart for too long.

"This isn’t too bad, but can you let go of me?" Becky mumbles, noticing people beginning to stare. "We can save the lovey-dovey stuff for home," she adds with a joking whisper.

"You're such a jerk." Freen elbows her in the ribs, laughing.

Becky reaches to grab the duffel bag she dropped, but a hand on hers stops her. Becky looks up and sees Freen grinning at her.

Confused, Becky frowns at Freen, who then kneels. Suddenly, it clicks.

"Freen? Freen, what are you doing? Stand up... Oh... Oh my god..." Becky blushes deeply.

Becky stares in shock, realizing what is happening. She wanted this for so long but thought Freen would never want to marry again. She was starting to come to terms with it. Now that it is finally happening, Becky doesn’t know how to feel.

"Life is short and can be taken at any time, which is why we should enjoy what we have now. I won’t let my past hold me back. I love you so much; you've given me more than I ever thought I could have. I've settled for forever with someone before, but I believe there is someone out there for everyone. You are that someone for me. You are my forever. I want to spend the rest of our lives together. So Rebecca Armstrong, will you marry me?" Freen pulls a ring from her pocket with shaking hands, looking Becky in the eye as she tries to hold back tears.

Becky looks between Freen and the ring, frozen in place.

"Becky? Please say something, baby."

"Oh. Oh! No! I mean yes! Yes! Of course I’ll marry you, Freen! I love you so much!"

"I love you too, Bec!"

Becky holds out her hand, trembling slightly, as Freen gently takes it and slips the ring onto her finger.

Becky wraps her arms around Freen’s neck and pulls her in for a passionate kiss. Their friends cheer loudly.

"Can I say something?" Becky asks as she pulls back.

Freen nods.

"I had no idea when I met you how important you would become to me, how much you would mean to me. You walked into my life and turned everything upside down. I’ve never been more grateful for anything. We’ve had our ups and downs and made mistakes, but all of that led us to each other. I didn’t know I could love like this or what it felt like to be loved like this. You've become my home, and I want nothing more than to have you by my side forever."

Tears fill Freen’s eyes now as she nods. There’s so much more she wants to say, but she can save that for later.

"It’s beautiful," Becky says, feeling the cool metal on her hand, which somehow feels right.

"I spent so long choosing it; I wanted it to be perfect."

"I love you," Becky says, tearing her eyes away from the ring to meet Freen's striking gaze. "I love you so much."

Becky leans forward, and Freen cups her cheeks, pulling her closer.

"I love you too."

Their lips meet softly as Freen sighs into the kiss, feeling hands slip into her hair and a body pressing close as the kiss deepens.

In the back of her mind, Freen knows she has something important to reveal. She can’t wait to see the look on Becky’s face when she finally tells her that she’s going to be a mother. She pulls back, gazing at Becky with tender eyes. "There’s something else I need to tell you."

Becky's frown deepens in confusion, but before Freen can say another word, the sound of a car coming closer grabs their attention as it stops right in front of Becky.
