Chapter 3: Fun with forgers

Epoxe is waiting for them and waving, exited to welcome them back home.

Edge is ready to scream if Hatchet tries to mention the slap first.

Hatchet: "Hey Pox, I'll just go put away the little we found."

Epoxe: "Tough luck?"

Hatchet smiles: "It went ok."

Epoxe smiles.

Hatchet: "Oh and" (He raises the synthetic sack with recoverable items.) "Here's a bit of corrupted stuff.. We'll need to clean it. Just don't put your bare hand in it."

Epoxe: "Ok."

Hatchet leaves.

Epoxe: "Hi Edge, things went well?"

Edge: "He hit me!"

Epoxe: "What?"

Edge: "Hatchet slapped me."

Epoxe: "Woah wait calm down. What happened?"

Edge: "uhm i.. he just.. He screamed that I wasn't paying attention and just slapped me!"

Epoxe: (sigh) "I knew it was a bad idea to let you 2 go alone.. Did he do anything else?"

Edge: "No.. he wanted me to let him explain it to you. He would lie, I know he would!"

Epoxe: "i.. Don't worry, Hatchet is sometimes impulsive. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. He'll apologize and everything will be fine."

Epoxe looks visibly stressed. Hatchet comes back and sees that something is wrong.

Epoxe: "Heyyy Hatchet uhm.."

Hatchet cuts him of: "Woah what's going on here?" (He looks at Edge, Edge looks away)

Epoxe: "Hatchet calm down, Edge told me.."

Hatchet cuts him of: "Edge told you?!" (He turns to Edge) "You told him?! What is your problem!?"

Epoxe: "Calm down man. We can work this out. You'll just apologize and.."

Hatchet cuts him off: "Apologize? Epoxe, sure probably not the ideal solution but Edge was not taking it seriously and I really didn't want her to get hurt just because she's too stupid to understand that she's in a town filled with corrupted fuckers trying to bite off her face."

Edge: "Fuck you!"

Hatchet ignores her insult. He is focusing on Epoxe.

Epoxe stays silent.

Hatchet: "The fuck did she tell you?"

Edge: "Nothing! Just that you hit me which is true!"

Epoxe: "You need to calm down Hatchet. Edge really didn't say anything else."

Edge is frustrated that they are talking like she's not there.

Hatchet: "Really? (He turns to Edge) "Then what's your problem? Was it really so hard to wait for me so we could tell Epoxe together, not me alone, together, meaning you'd be there too, fucking hell..."

Edge: "Right, and you definitely wouldn't lie to Epoxe, is that what you're trying to make me believe?"

Hatchet: "Excuse you?"

Epoxe: "Woah Edge, Hatchet wouldn't do that."

Edge: "How do you know that?"

Epoxe: "I've known him since forever. We're best friends."
