*Hastings*

Spencer waited for her parents to fall asleep. Her father had been up for hours in his office doing some kind of work and her mother was reading a magazine on the couch while watching the late-night news. She tried to stay calm as she watched the time on the clock tick by. Should she send Toby a message through email telling him to wait just a wee bit longer? Her mother finally went to bed at midnight, but her father was still up. Spencer bit her nails anxiously as she decided to try sneaking quietly down the stairs. She got to the second to last step when she heard her father's dry cough as he made his way into the kitchen to look for a late-night snack. Dammit! Spencer thought as she walked back up to her bedroom. She shut her door and tried to think of what to do. Spencer knew Toby was waiting for her. She just needed to get down to her car. Spencer stared out her bedroom window for a moment trying to plan an exit strategy. There's a tall tree outside her window. If she stretches out far enough, maybe she can reach it. Then what? Her father might hear her car starting as she's leaving. Spencer got out her phone and sent a quick text message to Aria.

SOS! Are you up? -Spencer

I'm up, what's up?-Aria

I need a ride. Can you meet me down the street from my house,5mins? -Spencer

OMW!-Aria

Spencer put on a black coat and her scarf. Spencer slowly opened her bedroom window and carefully, climbed out of it and on to the tree branch. This is crazy, she thought as her body shivered from the chill of the wind blowing her hair. Spencer carefully climbed down the tree landing with her feet on the ground. She tip toed through the backyard and out to the main road where Aria would be waiting for her. Two headlights shinned as Aria's car pulled up along the curb where Spencer was standing.

"Thank you, thank you," Spencer said, as she got into the passenger's seat.

"No problem," Aria said. She started driving. "Where are we going?"

"Take me to Lookout Point, please." Spencer sniffed.

"Oh, you meeting someone there?" Aria teased while giving Spencer a knowing look.

"It's Toby," Spencer muttered.

"I knew it!" Aria grinned.

"Do you think you can call him on your phone to tell him I'm on my way?" Spencer asked. "It's already 12:30, and I'm afraid he'll leave before I get there."

"Ugh, I set my phone inside my purse. It's in the backseat," said Aria. "Maybe you can reach it?"

Spencer twisted her torso and reached her arm back as far as it could go. Aria's purse was laying on the floor behind the seats. Spencer cursed under her breath and turned back around.

"I can't get it."

"We'll be there soon, hang on."

There was silence between them. Spencer's hands shook in her lap. They were two minutes away now, but it felt like forever. Toby's probably getting ready to leave. He probably gave up, or maybe he never came at all realizing that it's just not worth it. Spencer was scared. She hadn't quite figured out how this whole thing was going to go. Hell, she hadn't even planned what to say. All that she knew was that she wanted to see him. Finally, Aria pulled up just a few yards away from the Rosewood sign.

"You want me to leave you off here?"

"Yes, thank you," Spencer said.

"You can call me when you need a ride home."

Spencer smiled, "thanks."

Aria smiled back and said, "have fun!"

Spencer smiled nervously as she hopped out of Aria's car. She heard Aria's car drive away behind her as she walked along the path to the Lookout Point. Spencer got to the clearing, and there he was.
