The Onyx Recruit

A Tasteful Fight

You're going to see a lot of (?)'s throughout the fight  because i'm not too sure about the anatomy of the breakfast monster.

Onyx jumped down after him, using his claws to keep him as close to the pole as possible, making it appear that he was running down. Steven wrapped his legs around the pole and tried to hold on the best he could, the plate scraping against the crystal. Suddenly, the scene shifted. The dark and shifty space around him changed to pink, calming him just a little. Onyx seemed to gain a little boost as well, launching himself down the pole faster and faster to get to the boy.

"Oh, hey. This isn't so bad." Steven smiled up at Onyx, happy with the change in surroundings before it got all dark, rocky and jagged once more. Steven began to wail again, hugging the pole tighter.

"Uhh, never mind!!" He screamed. Then, suddenly, he came to a stop. The pole bent, going horizontally for just a moment before it would curve back down. Steven rested at the crook of the bend, his arms and legs wrapped around the crystal so he wouldn't fall. Steven was looking down at Garnet who was walking up towards a pit of lava. Once she was close enough, she held out Steven's phone and snapped it in half, dropping it into the fiery liquid.

"Aww..." Steven frowned, his brows turning up to show his sorrow. Garnet then grabbed the roll of paper from under her arm, unraveling it and holding up her hands, using her powers to sink it into the lava. The paper touched the lava and instantly began to burn. Disembodied voices screamed in agony as the paper was destroyed. Garnet bubbled the parchment as it went up in flames, smoke billowing and clouding the bubble. Steven slid down carefully and got to his feet, walking a little closer to Garnet. Onyx came down next, slowly walking up to him. Pearl and Amethyst were last, landing next to Onyx.

"Steven, we're getting you out of here." Pearl whispered as Onyx lifted him up.

"Come on." Amethyst waved Onyx over.

"Huh? This is great! We're all together!" Steven yelled and wriggled out of Onyx's arms, effectively startling Garnet. Garnet whipped her head around to look at them, causing the smoke to escape the bubble just a little. Garnet caught it just in time, guiding it back into one form.

"We can finally eat! I mean, we don't have any forks, but we can use our hands. I'm not gonna judge." Steven shrugged as Onyx, Pearl, and Amethyst raced over to Garnet's side.

"Steven! Go!" Garnet commanded, trying to keep the mass inside of the bubble.

"Okay! Want to meet in the kitchen?"He asked, his grin never faltering. Garnet's bubble popped the second she was distracted, unleashing the smoky and slightly blobby mass.

"Woah!" Steven yelped as he fell backwards, a smoggy tendril reached out towards him, causing him to scoot back further and further. Garnet, Amethyst, and Onyx summoned their weapons, dead set on protecting the boy.

"It's trying to escape! Force it back!" Garnet commanded. Amethyst and Onyx nodded, racing away to fight it off. They swung and whipped and punched, earning a slight screech of pain each time a blow connected. A hit from Garnet sent part of it up, only for it to shoot towards Steven who got to his feet to run from it. Onyx swung his ax at it, trying to get some distance between it and Steven. Pearl stabbed at it with her spear and it backed away over to Garnet who gave it a powerful swing from her gauntlets. Screeching, it flew off above them, back towards Steven. It slammed into the plate he was holding and knocked him onto his back with a grunt.

"Steven!" The gems yelled in worry. Steven groaned and looked down at the plate, the waffles on it wriggling and wiggling.

"Together Breakfast?" Steven asked, fear slightly lacing his voice. The food rose up from the plate, the ingredients making up its surprisingly terrifying appearance.

Onyx looked at it, his pupils widened as he drooled slightly. The monster leaned over Steven, about to attack him before getting interrupted by Pearl throwing her spear through its body. It screeched and turned its head(?) to look(??) at her, creating a balled up fist from the whipped cream of its body.

"It's taken refuge in organic matter!" Pearl turned and shouted before the monster's fist rammed into her back and slammed her against the rocky walls, sending cracks out in every direction. Onyx leapt at the monster, hacking his ax into it, and also sneaking the occasional bite of the popcorn whenever the opportunity showed itself.

"Now it has all the power of a breakfast! We have to destroy it!" Garnet stated as Pearl wriggled under the whipped cream.

"It's horrible!" She cried out. The monster took the spear out from its body and snapped it in half, watching(?) as it dissipated into sparkles. Garnet tried punching it, only for her gauntlet to get stuck in the thick syrup and whipped cream. She grunted as she tried pulling her hand from it, getting frustrated as she found she couldn't, noticing she might need some help, Amethyst came to try to pull her out.

"I didn't want this! I just wanted to eat together like-like best buds!" Steven groaned, holding up the plate that held the base of the monster to keep it from falling down on him.

"Steven! You've got to get away!" Garnet grunted, still trying to free herself as tendrils of whipped cream made their way over to her and Amethyst.

"But my breakfast!" Steven whined.

"Forget the breakfast! Get safe!" Onyx yelled as he jumped onto the head(?) of the monster, biting small chunks of the syrupy waffle from it. Said monster shrieked and thrashed in pain at well, being eaten, and tried to throw him off. The monster flung Garnet and Amethyst away, smacking them into the stone wall and pinning them there with a waffle before managing to finally throw Onyx off. Onyx grunted as his back hit the fluffy treat, some syrup shooting at him to keep him there. Onyx swallowed what was in his mouth and reached over and tore off a chunk of the waffle behind him, swiping it through the syrup holding him down and stuffing it into his mouth.

"That's enough!" Steven shouted angrily at the monster throwing the gems off to the side and gripped the plate tighter.

"I don't care if you... are the most important meal of the day!" He grunted and pushed the plate back, slowly rising to his feet. He pushed it further and further back until the monster had stepped into the lava pit.

"I made you to bring us together, not to tear us apart!" He finally managed to push it further down into the lava, effectively neutralizing it, and also causing some of its components to be strewn about the room.

Garnet punched a square out of the waffle which was caught and eaten by Onyx, who managed to free himself from the syrup, most likely by consuming it. Garnet then climbed out of the waffle, followed by Amethyst. Pearl even managed to free herself from the sticky grasp of the whipped cream. Onyx ran his hands through the whipped cream and brought them to his mouth as he and the rest of the gems walked over to the lava pit that Steven sat looking deep into.

"I'm sorry guys... I guess I dreamed too big.." Steven frowned, looking up at Garnet.
