Seraphine pov:
I can feel Farah glancing at me yet again. That's the twentieth time she's glanced at me during the time that we've been in her office. I think that she still feels bad about snapping at me. I mean, it did hurt, I'm used to getting snapped at from my time in the army and before that but it just hurt knowing that it was Farah. I feel her looking at me once more. I look up and meet her eyes with a sigh, "Farah you're looking away from those papers more than you're looking at them" I say. She sighs and looks down, "I know, I'm sorry, it's just, what happened in the woods-" she starts and I cut her off, "what happened in the woods is already forgotten" I say. "But, it wasn't fair to you, you were only trying to help" she says. I sigh. I take her hand in mine, "Farah, look at me" I say. She looks up hesitantly, "Stop all that! If I were mad at you or if I were hurt by you I wouldn't be here!" I tell her. She nods. "So, now let's finish the paperwork" I say and retract my hand. She sighs softly and goes back to her paperwork.
After a while she still glances at me a lot, this time she's the one to speak up. "You tensed up at the mention of Rosalind, why?" She asks and puts her pen on the desk. I sigh, "I-uhm, me and her have a complicated history" I say, Farah frowns, "What do you mean?" She asks. "Rosalind is, was, my guardian. She was barely there and when she was she wasn't the nicest person" I say and let out a small laugh. "It was because of her I joined the solarian army when I was 16, that's how I became friends with Luna" I say. Farah stares at me, "Rosalind Hale was your guardian?" She asks, shock written on her face. I nod. "But, that can't be possible, she was here" Farah says. "Like I said, she was rarely there with me, I was raised by soldiers in Solaria which led to my spot in the army" I say. "So, all those trips she did to Solaria was to meet you?" She asks. I nod, "Yes". She leans back in the chair, confused by the sudden confession from me. "But I hate her, I really do" I say sincerely. Farah glances at me. She nods. "Although I never figured out what happened to her, one day she just disappeared, Luna said she died but I can tell that she's lying" I say and focus on the paperwork again, "Maybe she just left" I say, not looking up. I don't believe that she just left but what other explanation is there? If I hadn't focused on the paperwork I would've noticed Farah's eyes slightly widen. "Maybe" She says and focuses on her paperwork too.
After a while we're done. I lean back into the chair with a sigh, "remind me again why I agreed to this" I say. Farah chuckles, "Now that was all you, Seraphine" she says. I smile slightly. "Yeah, well, I guess being with you makes it all better" I tease slightly with a smile. Farah rolls her eyes playfully and shakes her head in amusement. Just then there's a knock on the door. "Come in" Farah calls out. I turn around in the chair to see who it is. In comes, Aisha, Terra and Musa. "How can I help you, girls?" Farah asks. The girls glance at me for a brief moment before looking at Farah again, "We believe that Bloom's in the first world" Aisha says. I frown, "What?" I ask. They all nod. I glance back at Farah, she gives me an equally confused look. "Are you sure?" Farah asks. They all nod again. "Damn it" I mumble and stand up. Farah stands too. "She's probably gone through the gateway at the old cemetery" Farah says to me. I nod. We start to walk out of the office, "You three follow us" Farah says. I put on my coat that was hanging on my chair and follow Farah. She puts on her coat as well and then us five are going to wards the woods. I use light magic to create some light for us to see, Farah nods towards me, appreciating the light. I give her a small smile back. We reach the old cemetery, it's outside of the barrier. "You four stay here, I'll go and find her" Farah says. "No, I'm going with you" I say. Farah sighs, "Seraphine.." she starts, "No! I'll go with you" I argue. She sighs again, "Fine, but you're damn careful" she warns me. I nod. I can see Musa smirk slightly in the corner of my eyes. I glare slightly at her before me and Farah enter the portal to the first world.
We end up in a warehouse. "Stay close" Farah says in a quiet, but yet strict voice. I nod and walk a bit closer to her. We suddenly hear a loud roar, "A burned one" I say. We look at each other. Then we hear footsteps running in our direction, it is Bloom who's being chased by a burned one. "Shit" I mutter and push the burned one back using magic. "Don't stop now" Farah says and gestures towards the portal, Bloom runs there. Once she's gone Farah turns to me, "Don't kill it" she says. I look at her with a frown, "What?" I say. "We can get information from it" she says. I continue to frown slightly as she just makes it unconscious. Then we get back to the other world. "What kind of information, Farah?" I ask. "Information about if it's alone or if there are more" she says and glance at me briefly before looking forward again as she continues to walk. I sigh and follow her. Please don't let it be anything more, I don't think the otherworld will survive another war.
