02 || Unexpected Visit

Dandy sat in a spinny office chair, spinning around endlessly as if he had nothing to worry about. There were so many things he should be worrying about. Once he got focused on a sheet of paper in front of him, he stood up and reached for it, looking at the neat handwriting that filled every blank spot of the sheet. Although mostly handwriting, black ichor dripped from one side of the paper like a tap would with water. He knew damn well what he was doing. The experiments, the tests, the site lock down, the staff wipeout, (which we'll get to later.. spooky foreshadowing, am I right?) everything. Every horrendous thing and Twisted Toon that wandered the building? Dandy's fault. His opinion on it? "What damage have I done? Nothing's wrong. It's for science!" Was Dandy's usual (hint) answer. He put the paper down, the ichor going over the side of the desk it now sat on. He wandered around the Staff Only room in repetitive circles, puddles of ichor and blood mixed in the corners and edges of the room. He was a bit sick of having to hide in the Staff Rooms. There were no staff, and the only Toons allowed in there were the Main Toons. The other Mains didn't dare going in there, except for one. Astro. Dandy always trusted him, and Astro trusted Dandy completely. Well, before the incidents (wink wink). Dandy wandered over to one of the vents, yanking the cover off of it and crawling inside. The ventilation system was all connected, giving Dandy access to anywhere. He jumped up, crawling around with some air blowing his petal back a smidge. Dandy carefully navigated the vents, arriving at a certain one with a moon sticker on the top of the vent shaft. He popped it open, grabbing it before it could hit the ground. One noise and he could be caught. It crawled through and set the cover back in place, although upside down. (remember that.) Dandy walked around for a moment, picking up lost items and tapes. He stepped up to a door, a bit of blue mist creeping out from under the door. Dandy recognized it, stepping back and hiding behind some crates. Not even five minutes later, Toodles and Vee stepped out before closing the door behind them, with Toodles holding her pillow tightly and Vee looking like she hadn't slept in days. No wonder they were in Astro's room. "C'mon, Toodles. You ready for bed?" Vee inquired, walking down the hall with the younger girl trailing behind her. "Yup! Can't wait to rule the world with brother, it's gonna be so much fun! Fun! Fun!" Toodles replied with a giggle, although sounding tired. Their steps faded out as Vee opened the door to Toodles's bedroom, ushering her inside and into bed. Now was his chance. Dandy knocked on the door around 5 minutes, standing on his heels and then his toes back and forth, rocking. Astro had just gotten into bed, and he had just managed to get comfortable before he awoke to the noise of knocking. "Holy fu-" Astro breathed out, not expecting another visitor. He assumed it was Toodles again. Maybe she had forgotten her pillow. Maybe it was Vee, coming in to chat before they went to bed. He sat up, rubbing his eyes with two hands, while the other two pushed himself off of the bed and dangling at his sides. Astro didn't bother checking the peephole, which was a mistake. He opened the door to a blurry and dark small figure. Astro's breath hitched, immediately recognizing the silhouette. They pulled it inside, lightly slamming the door after. "W- what the fuck are you doing here!? I- I thought you locked yourself in the Staff-" He was cut off by Dandy making a shush noise, his face a bit worried. "No, please, calm down! Let me explain. It'll all make sense." Dandy muttered, before flashing that usual smile of his (now forced and fake..) that he used for posters, the same posters that still littered the walls even after the Toons's attempts to get rid of them, the same posters that Astro had in his nightstand beside his bed, waiting to be seen by someone else other than Astro. They sighed, dragging Dandy to sets of chairs with a table in between them. Every Toon had their own chair in his room, even Pebble. The two sat in their normal chairs, the silence deafening. The only noise was coming from the vents, and the occasional chatter of TV from the Toon that lived next door to him, Teagen. Dandy drummed his fingers on the carefully carved wooden table, sighing. "Miss me?" "Are you proud of what you've done, Dandy? W-why would you do this? Of course I missed you, we all missed you! Why? Just- just why?" The sudden outburst from Astro slightly frightened Dandy, a small shiver going up his back. He didn't know what to say, looking away from a moment. Astro was clearly hurting from the whole ordeal. Tears threatened to fall from Astro's eyes, yet he stayed strong and sighed. He bit his bottom lip, not proud he spoke like that to Dandy. "I know what I did wasn't, y'know.. the greatest thing I've done. I'm actually sorry." Dandy replied, his mouth a grimace and his expression unsure. Astro sighed, fixing his posture. "I-I'm begging you, just- just stop this madness, before it gets any worse. Please."

"Dandy?"

"..."

"I don't think I can, Astro."
