Shubman paused, momentarily taken aback by the sudden barrage of questions. The paparazzi crowded around him, cameras flashing and microphones thrust forward.
Another paparazzo chimed in, "Are you two dating?"
"Have you been spotted together recently?" a third one asked.
"Is there a special reason you two have been seen together so often?" added another.
Shubman took a deep breath, maintaining his composure. "Sara and I are good friends," he said calmly. "We've spent time together because we have common interests and enjoy each other's company."
"Is it just friendship, or is there something more?" someone pressed.
"Do you plan to take her to any upcoming cricket matches?" another inquired eagerly.
"Shubman, can you give us a hint about any future plans with Sara?" a journalist asked, hoping for an exclusive scoop.
Shubman smiled politely but remained firm. "Right now, I'm focused on my cricket career and spending time with my family and friends. I appreciate your interest, but that's all there is to it."
The paparazzi continued to fire questions, but Shubman gracefully maneuvered through the crowd, making his way to his car. He knew that any further comments would only fuel more speculation.
As he drove away, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself, thinking about how much interest a simple friendship could generate. He decided to call Sara later and give her a heads-up about the media frenzy. For now, he was looking forward to seeing Shahneel's reaction to the gifts he'd picked out for her.
Back at the hotel, Shubman texted Sara: Hey, just a heads-up. Got ambushed by paps at the mall asking about us. Hope you're ready for some rumors 😅.
A few minutes later, Sara replied: Oh boy, here we go again! Thanks for the warning. Let's catch up later.
Feeling a sense of relief after the exchange, Shubman headed up to his room, eager to unwind from the unexpected encounter. As he placed the gifts for Shahneel on the bedside table, he couldn't help but think about how his life had taken such an interesting turn recently. Despite the media frenzy, he was grateful for the genuine connections he had and looked forward to what the future might hold.
Later that evening, Shubman was lounging in his hotel room when Hardik knocked on the door and walked in, a mischievous grin on his face.
"So, I heard you had quite the run-in with the paps today," Hardik said, settling into a chair across from Shubman.
Shubman chuckled. "Yeah, it was pretty intense. They wouldn't stop asking about Sara and me."
Hardik leaned forward, his grin widening. "And what did you tell them? Are you two dating or what?"
