(Taehyung's perspective)

A few years later:

The sun had barely risen, casting a soft, golden hue over the kitchen, as I shuffled in, bleary-eyed and desperately clutching a mug of coffee. My three kids were already awake, the house buzzing with their energy and chatter. It was the first day of school, a milestone for all of them. Yun-Hee was starting middle school, Seo-Jun was entering third grade, and little Juwon was about to begin kindergarten.

"Dad! Where's my backpack?" Yun-Hee's voice rang out, piercing through my sleepy haze.

"In the hallway, next to the shoe rack," I called back, hoping I was right. I could hear the pitter-patter of her feet as she raced to retrieve it.

"Dad, can you tie my shoes?" Seo-Jun asked, holding out his sneakers, his big brown eyes looking up at me with a mix of excitement and nervousness.

"Of course, buddy," I said, kneeling down to help him. As I tied his laces, I glanced over at Juwon, who was sitting at the kitchen table, staring intently at his cereal bowl.

"Juwon, you need to eat your breakfast, okay? You don't want to be late for your first day," I reminded him gently.

He looked up at me, his lower lip jutting out in a pout. "I miss Eomma."

I felt a pang in my chest, the familiar ache of her absence. "I miss her too, Juwon," I said softly, ruffling his hair.

Managing the kids alone had been a challenge, one that left me exhausted most days. But their smiles, their laughter, and their boundless energy kept me going. They were my lifeline, my reason for pushing through each day.

As we finally made it out the door, I herded them into the car, securing Juwon into his booster seat. Yun-Hee and Seo-Jun climbed into the back, already bickering about something trivial.

"Yun-Hee, remember to keep an eye on your brothers after school, okay?" I reminded her as I started the car.

"Yes, Dad," she replied, rolling her eyes in that typical pre-teen manner. "You tell me every day."

"I know, but today's different. It's a big day for all of you," I said, trying to keep my tone light despite the knot of anxiety in my stomach.

We pulled up to the school, and I watched as Yun-Hee and Seo-Jun joined the throng of kids heading inside. I gave them both a quick hug, feeling a rush of pride and a twinge of sadness at how quickly they were growing up.

"Be good, okay?" I said, my voice catching slightly.

"We will, Dad!" Seo-Jun called back, giving me a toothy grin before running off.

I turned to Juwon, who was clutching my hand tightly. "Ready, little man?"

He nodded, though his eyes were wide with uncertainty. I walked him to his classroom, kneeling down to give him one last hug before letting him go.
