(Y/N's POV)

It had been a tumultuous week since the new neighbors moved in, coinciding with the chaos my grandpa stirred up almost bankrupting our family business. As if that wasn't enough, my parents had just returned from their impromptu trip to our hometown, Daegu, with a whole bunch of new trauma and venting to do. And to top it all off, the new neighbors—especially Taehyung and his entourage of "best friends"—were beyond noisy. I've never seen a group so adept at turning a quiet neighborhood into a perpetual frat house

I learned their names quickly enough: Taehyung lived with his best friends Jimin and Jungkook, along with Hobi, Namjoon, Jin, and some elusive seventh guy whose existence remained a mystery I hadn't bothered to investigate. It was like a K-pop band moved in next door, except they were more interested in partying than practicing choreography.

Just as I was settling into the idea of a peaceful evening, my mom decided it was time to extend a belated welcome gesture. "Y/N, dear," she called out in that gentle-yet-firm voice of hers that always meant trouble. "Could you or Kiyoung take over the toilet paper and laundry detergent to the new neighbors? It's only polite."

I rolled my eyes, trying to reason with her. "Mom, it's been a week already. If they needed supplies, they would've bought them by now. Besides, do we really want to encourage their rowdiness?"

She gave me that look—the one that said 'don't argue, just do it'. "Y/N, manners are manners. It doesn't matter how long they've been here. Now, go on."

I huffed, knowing resistance was futile. Kiyoung conveniently bolted out of the house, leaving me stuck in a negotiation I was destined to lose. Reluctantly grabbing a pack of toilet paper and a bottle of laundry detergent, I marched over to the noisy den of chaos next door.

As I approached their door, the reverberating bass and muffled laughter leaked through the walls, announcing their presence even before Taehyung swung the door open. He stood there, nonchalant yet irritatingly attractive in his casual attire, hair tousled just enough to give him that effortlessly cool look.

I thrust the bundle of toilet paper and laundry detergent into his arms, my irritation palpable as I explained, "My mom insisted on giving you a belated welcome gift. They were away in Daegu until today."

Taehyung's eyebrow quirked up in mild surprise. "Daegu? You're from Daegu too?" There was a hint of amusement in his voice, as if he'd stumbled upon some hidden connection.

I nodded tersely. "Yeah, what about it?"

He chuckled softly, his smirk widening. "So, are you stalking me all the way from Daegu then?" His tone was teasing, but there was a playful glint in his eyes.

I scoffed, rolling my eyes dramatically. "Oh please, like I'd waste my time stalking you of all people."

Taehyung leaned casually against the doorframe, arms crossed around the pack of toilet paper, his smirk turning into a knowing grin. "Hmm, could've fooled me with how often you seem to show up." His voice held a hint of mock suspicion, as if he was piecing together a puzzle.
