Shravan and Aarohi took a stroll in a deserted place, due to their car breakdown. Both of them were talking about random things, their conversation landed on their college days,How they handled their exams and internship.
Shravan with a pinch of curiosity asked, what drew you towards medicine?I mean Why did you wanted to be a doctor?
Aarohi's expression softened, and she let out a chuckle no one's ever asked me that!
Shravan looked at her surprisingly,Seriously? No one asked me too, everyone assumed I would become a doctor because of my family background.
Aarohi:I had many reasons,Why do you want to do medicine?
Shravan:I asked you first,
Aarohi:It was because of my mother,She got injured in an accident.Thankfully there were some doctors at that place,They saved her.The gratefulness and the relief,I felt then,I want others to feel the same,Since then I wanted to become a doctor.I was inspired by them.
Shravan:The person in hospital....is your mother right?
Her expression was like a cracked mirror, reflecting her shattered emotions.
Shravan:And She was a boxer right?
Aarohi gaze snapped at his How did you know this?
Shravan chuckled,You mentioned it,when we fought against the goons,
I don't remember something like that,Aarohi said while her eyes dimmed, sorrow seeped into her face,
But yes She was a boxer.Shravan:Are you okay with me talking about this?
Aarohi nodded her head,
A sullen expression took over her face,"I still recall the times at the hospital, where I felt elated that Mom was alive. But days later, the harsh reality hit me – she wouldn't wake up, and no one knew when. I was filled with gratitude for her survival but anxiety and fear took over me,thinking about the future.Should I rejoice in her existence or worry about her awakening?
Everyone moved on,I tried to which I couldn't do With each passing day, it's becoming harder to hold onto hope. What if she wakes up? What if I never see her Radiant smile?
She paused for a bit, then resumed
We've read about coma patients' mental struggles. I fear that too. She's lost so much – years of her life, the love of her life. It'll be hard for her to adjust. The thought haunts me.
Shravan:Honestly,I can only imagine How hard it must be for you,But dont lose your hope,I have contacts with renowned neurologists, let's consult with them,I am sure she will wake up one day, answering all your prayers. We shall explore every possibility.
Aarohi tried to control her unshed tears, turned towards him
"Thank you, Shravan, for listening. I couldn't share this with my family; we've been hurt too much. We stopped expressing our grief, fearing we'd hurt each other more. I've been bottling up my worries and concerns, but talking to you... I feel a weight lifted. I'm grateful."Shravan nodded his head supportively and held her hands,
He understood that she wants someone to talk about her mother,So he started questioning about herShravan:What kind of person was she?
She let out a chuckle remembering the moments she shared with her mother,
A wave of nostalgia took over her,
Mumma was the strongest woman I ever knew, and the most lovable human being,She taught me that love and strength can coexist in a person,Papa would say, she'd get angry easily, but then cry easily too,For me She was fascinating mix of kindness love and compassion.
I want to give her all the love she deserves!
