jacob walked out of the bathroom after washing his hands. he looked to his left and saw all the party goers lined up to use it. he nodded at them before stepping out the way and heading into the crowded living room.

some drake song played on the speakers as he made his way through the home. he went into the kitchen and poured himself something to drink. he leaned back on the counter as he drank out of a purple solo cup.

then, some girl came strutting in. she wore a black see through top that showed off her white bralette and low rise blue jeans. she had her brown hair in a slick back pony tail that swayed whenever she walked.

"you didn't dress up.." he spoke the obvious after he looked her up and down. he knew how many girls were going to be excited to dress up so he was confused when he saw one who wasn't.

she looked up then giggled as she glanced down at her outfit and shrugged, "didn't get the memo."

jacob grinned to himself. "i've never seen you around before." he spoke.

"yeah i just moved here to the city and started working with olivia, she's great!"

he couldn't care less about olivia as he walked up to this girl. his thoughts got interrupted when he heard people cheering stella's name. his eyebrows furrowed before excused himself and walked out the kitchen, down the hall way and into the dining room.

stella was standing on olivia's wooden dining table. she started to dance to the edm music blasting through the house. jacob looked up in surprise. she was usually such a a conservative girl.

delaney was on the side cheering her on and madi was no where to be found. everyone else around was cheering too. he wondered if they actually knew her or just named her as some random drunk girl at the party.

suddenly, she threw her head up and hit the light fixture. she groaned in pain as she fell back. out of instinct, jacob threw his arms out for her to fall into. he breathed out as he looked at her, glad she was safe.

"mmh thank you jacob" she slurred before widening her eyes, "you were supposed to let me fall!"

"and why is that?" he questioned.

"because you hate me!"

that stung him. he knew she was just drunk and didn't really have a choice over her words but he knew that's how she felt. he helped her back to her feet and she stumbled a bit.

he swallowed before saying, "lets get you some water." he will always help her even though her words were a little bit true.

"nooo," she whined, "i'm having so much fun with my friends."

he shook his head and started to pull her towards the kitchen like she was little kid. he would always feel protective over her, he especially did right now since she's under the influence.

he knows she's gotten drunk before. hell, they tried lsd together which somehow ended in a very sexual night. but he always worried about her because he's always felt a responsibility to keep her safe. he didn't know why or how to explain it.

when they reached the kitchen, the girl from before had already left. jacob wasn't surprised but he didn't care. his mind was sobering stella so she didn't do anything crazy, knowing how embarrassed she would get.

he opened olivia's fridge and grabbed a plastic water bottle along with a colby jack cheese stick. he turned around and saw stella was gone. he wasn't even turned for more than 5 seconds.

he cursed before he started off to find her. he went out the patio when he had no luck in the downstairs of the house. he spotted her talking to some guy near the pool.

he sighed before walking towards her, water bottle and cheese stick in hand. he stumbled down the stairs, feeling drunk himself before getting to the brown haired girl.

"here." he interrupted, handing stella the goods.

the guy looked at him with a confused look, "we were having a conversation asshole, don't interrupt me."

jacob matched the confused look, "calm down buddy, just trying to help the girl out."

"i didn't ask for your help." stella butted in innocently as she peeled the plastic of the cheese stick.

"yeah she didn't ask for your help, 'buddy'" he mocked before pushing him with his index finger.

jacob scoffed before pushing him harsher with both hands on his chest. the guy nearly stumbled into the pool.

"watch it!" he shouted as he held onto stella's arms.

jacob and looked down at their position and shook his head. he determined it's not worth it since him and stella aren't even a thing. he's letting his feelings get in the way of what's right.

he turned around and walked over after murmuring a sorry. he made his way to the patio, walking up the short stairs when he felt a hand on his shoulder causing him to turn his head.

he turned around and saw stella, the water in hand. she had such a beauty that made jacob fall for her again.

"i want to talk to you." she said.

he nodded and let her guide him to a secluded area. they went upstairs and to a guest bedroom. she locked the door behind them and sat on the bed.

"i'm sorry for the way i treated you." she apologized. she was super drunk but she felt she needed to get it out when she had the chance.

"it's okay." he nodded

"no it's not." she shook her head and reached out to feel his hands, "you're drinking and smoking because of me."

"you're drunk." he laughed and stood up about the walk out the door. he then turned, "you drink and smoke too?!"

"yeah but not as bad as you now! plus i know how you feel, well felt, about drinking and smoking." her voice trailed off at the end as she looked up into his brown eyes.

he sighed before shaking his head, "but you're drunk-"

"we're drunk. "she corrected

"i want to have this conversation when we're sober." he continued.

she stood up and asked, "can i just do something i've been thinking about?"

he nodded as she walked over to him. she placed her manicured hands on his cheek before she leaned in. suddenly her lips were planted on his as they both kissed each other. he breathed threw his nose before she pulled away.

"i needed that." she said before walking next to him to get to the door and walked out.

he watched as she left, catching his breath from the moment.  he felt his lips before following after to her.

upon reaching the stairs when she was, he watched as she tripped on some guy making outs shoe and tumbled down the stairs. everyone gasped as his eyes widened before he pushed the couple out of the way and ran down the stairs to get her.

everyone on the landing was silent as they watched jacob make sure the girl was still alive. he put his ear up to her chest and heard her heartbeat but she probably passed out.

he threw his head back before standing up and carrying her bridal style. walking through the crowds of people, wondering what happened, he tried to find madi and delaney.

he groaned when he found out they already left, thinking she did too with him. he was too drunk for this. wait no, he wasn't drunk enough.

he didn't know what to do. he didn't want to bring her to hospital since last time she passed out, she ended up fine. he just decided to bring her home.

he bought an uber and had to tell the driver she was sleeping since he didn't want any trouble. once at his house, he brought her in and laid her down on his couch. he removed her accessories, just leaving her in the pink tube dress. he kissed her cheek before getting himself ready for bed.

he was letting himself get carried away again.
