Jeongguk had been sitting outside the Grove for about an hour. It would be a flat-out lie to say that he wasn't worried. He was incredibly concerned about his alpha.
He had no idea what was going on inside the Grove, and he didn't know what was taking so long. It was just a small prophecy. So, why was Taehyung taking so long?
Sitting there for a while made him rethink everything that happened fourteen days ago.
He thought about how quickly he went from Venus to Jeon Jeongguk. How he went from mateless to having a pure blood as his alpha. How he had lost most of his pack and his dear luna. The thoughts of her brought tears to his eyes, but before he broke down crying, Taehyung's words echoed in his mind.
Sure, they faced many hard problems, and more was guaranteed. But, they had come out of it together. He made some new amazing friends, and he had the most loving alpha to call his. In the end, no matter what happens, all of them would be together. Fate be damned.
He didn't care what evil the prophecy would bring as long as he had Taehyung, Lisa, and Seokjin with him. Hell, he wanted Hoseok, Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jimin with him as well. They had been kind and helpful in their quest.
The thought of them brought a smile to his face.
Then, suddenly, the Grove began to glow like it did when Taehyung entered. Jeongguk quickly stood up and walked closer. The light shone too bright, and Jeongguk shielded his eyes.
When he opened them again, Taehyung stood right outside of the Grove. A huge sigh of relief left Jeongguk, and he opened his arms.
Wearing his boxy smile, Taehyung ran to him and wrapped his arms around him. Jeongguk laughed in his embrace. They stood like that for a moment. Their clothes and body had dried by now, and the ground wasn't slippery.
Taehyung pulled away and kissed his forehead. Jeongguk's eyes fluttered close, and he smiled.
"Why did you take so long?" Jeongguk asked. Taehyung's eyerbrows furrowed.
"How long?" He asked.
"About an hour," Jeongguk replied. Taehyung sighed.
"I didn't realise. Did I worry you?" He cupped his face. Jeongguk nodded with a slight pout.
"Too much,"
"I'm sorry, baby." Taehyung kissed his pout away and let go of his face. "But, I got the prophecy," he said.
"Is it bad?" Jeongguk asked with a grimace. Taehyung shrugged and recited the prophecy.
"What is hidden must be revealed. By a friend, you shall be deceived. Whatever you see may not be. When the moon is red, you shall agree."
"Oh great," Jeongguk rolled his eyes. But, a worry settled in his stomach. Who was the friend that would betray them? He looked at Taehyung, whose eyes were fixed on the ground. There was a furrow in his eyebrows, and lines formed in his forehead.
"You look worried," Jeongguk pointed out. Taehyung's eyes shot up to him. He shook his head and put on a small smile.
"I'm just thinking about the prophecy," Jeongguk didn't believe that.
"No, there is something more,"
"I'm fine, my love,"
"Hyung," he pressed. Taehyung gulped before sighing.
"Baeloria tested me before giving the prophecy. She wanted to see if I had a strong mind," he then told Jeongguk everything that happened without leaving anything.
