In a world ravaged by dark spirits and the scars of the century-long war, Ryu, a young firebender, is consumed by a grief unlike any other. When vengeful Earthbenders take his mother's life, the flames of his heart are replaced by an insatiable thir...
A few days had passed since Ryu's fusion, and he stood atop the palace, looking out into the distance.
"... That fog is suspicious," Ryu muttered to himself, eyes narrowing as he observed the unnatural mist rolling over the horizon.
Suddenly, the ocean defenses activated, igniting with a fiery glow.
Ryu's gaze shifted towards the energy, his instincts telling him something was about to happen. "Shall I attack them?" he asked calmly, ready for action.
"You'll be our last line" Azula said which Ryu nodded to, "I'm going to see father, pleases be safe" Azula said
Ryu nodded in return, his face showing no sign of concern. "I don't plan on dying here," he assured her.
Azula turned to head inside the palace, her voice softening. "See you later. Please... be safe."
As she walked off, Ryu's focus remained on the water, scanning for any sign of movement. The soldiers had caught up—he could feel their presence—but where were they?
Ryu narrowed his eyes, surveying the area carefully, when suddenly, his spirit senses stirred. The enemy had resurfaced... but now, they were diving again.
"...So, that's the plan..." Ryu muttered, a determined glint in his eyes. He steadied himself, prepared for whatever was to come next.
"Stay with them," Ryu ordered his spirits, his voice steady but commanding.
One of the spirits materialized before him. "Zuko appears to be leaving," it reported, its voice echoing with a hint of concern.
"Leaving?" Ryu's brows furrowed. "Is he betraying us?"
The spirit hesitated for a moment before answering, "It's not clear."
Ryu's eyes narrowed, the weight of the situation settling on him. "Keep an eye on him. Report back if anything changes."
"Yes, master," the spirit responded with a slight bow before disappearing.
Just as Ryu was about to refocus on the task at hand, another spirit made contact.
"They've reached the port."
Ryu's expression darkened, the edge of a smile barely visible on his lips. "So the real fun starts now."
Ryu's eyes locked on the distant explosions, the shockwaves rippling across the water as they tore through the water gates. His grip tightened on his focus as he watched the chaos unfold.
"Time to move," he muttered under his breath, flying higher to get a better view.
As he ascended, the landscape stretched out before him, and through the smoke and debris, he saw them surfacing—swarming from the depths like a tide of enemies rising from the abyss.
