the door opened to a female voice. "wait who's having sex?"

turns out it was just your stepsister, elizabeth, coming home from college. she couldn't have come at a better time.

"what the fuck happened here?" she looked around at the disheveled furniture and glass filling up the dustpans.

"language, lil lady." michael warned.

"lizzie!" elliot and jean ran up to their sister, nearly suffocating her with all their weight.

"get the fuck off me gym rats! i don't wanna hug you, i wanna hug y/n!" they get off her, allowing her to run up to you and jump in your arms. "i feel like i haven't seen you in ages."

"yeah because you don't call nobody."

"well college is hard." you never held that against her because you knew she was working hard at whatever she was doing 4 hours away.

"get off the girl's back, mike. she's here now so let's enjoy her." your mom commented.

"who's that?" she looked at connie who looked like he didn't know where he was supposed to be. he didn't wanna intrude on the lil family moment.

"y/n's boyfrie—" you pinched jean before he could finish.

"shut up. liz, this is constance. constance, this is liz."

"you can call me connie." he gave you a side eye before smiling at liz.

"you're cute, connie."

"you're cute too, y/n's sister." elliot and jean turned away, snickering as you rolled your eyes and pushed between the two.

"alright yall i'm going home. before lizzie takes my man." everyone gave the last of their hugs and goodbyes before you and connie left.

"i didn't get to see your mom...or meet your dad." you pouted. you were so caught up with the thanksgiving fiasco with your parents that you didn't even think about anything else.

"ehh it's cool, i'll let them know what happened and everything. plus the living situation over there is...awkward."

"why you say that?"

"my mom let my dad and the twins dad stay there. i don't know why she did it either." he shrugged. it sounded like a weird situation but you were sure it didn't top what happened at your parents. it was quiet for a second because you didn't wanna say anything weird about his mom.

"aye turn this shit up." you were confused but you reached over to turn up the music and it was espresso by sabrina carpenter. you would've never thought connie listened to sabrina carpenter. you knew the song and eventually jumped into singing along with connie, even if it was terrible. you hadn't noticed but connie had slowly stopped singing just to hear you.

"what happened?" you turned down the radio.

he shrugged. "nothing." but it wasn't nothing. it was him realizing for another moment how much he loved you. when you entered the apartment and turned around, connie was somehow holding balloons and bags. you were more shocked as to where they came from and how you didn't see them.

"happy birthday y/n."

"where did those come from?"

"i bought them?"

"i mean, i didn't see them before—" you said as you grabbed the balloons from his hand and tied them to a chair.

"don't worry bout all that. i wanna see you open all the stuff i got you~" he whined. you rolled your eyes and sat with him on the couch. he got you some uggs with the bows, a sweater, and a pandoras bracelet. you don't remember any dude being that thoughtful since your ex tried to give you flowers after cheating.

"thank you, connie~so thoughtful..." connie opened his arms up to you, looking for a hug. you went into them and wrapped your arms around him, melting into him. but then he started squeezing you.

"i love you too~i know you're not a big affectionate person."

"connie—"

"but i'm gonna show just how much i love you~no matter what you say."

"connie..."

"and—"

"connie!" he immediately let you go. "you tryna kill me?"

he pouted, joking. "not yet.." you hit him with a pillow on the couch, laughing.

"fucking asshole."
