Chapter 8

JUGHEAD

"I will, great then we have a deal. I'll send the documents to you later on. Glad doing business with you" I said ending the call.

I've been in my building's office for at least 5 hours. It's the only thing keeping me alive for now. Also preventing me going home where my fiancée is at. Fangs has been giving me updates about her which I told him to do so.

I decided he was the only person I trusted to watch over her as he has worked as my chauffeur for a long time. He is a close friend as well and knew he had security experience.

"Mr Jones your father sent me the date and place for the photo shoot." Toni said. "Its in two day by the way" she added. Great.

"Thanks Toni" I sigh in frustration. I know this day was coming, but didn't know this soon.

"So did you give her the ring already" she questioned

"What, oh yea I did earlier today"

"Your kidding right"

"What" I said raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"You gave her the ring during breakfast. Really Jughead couldn't you have been a little romantic"

"Hey you know the reason this is happening for. So I'm sorry if I didn't make it a little 'romantic', okay"

Toni and Fangs are the only once who know the whole reason for this marriage. I've been around them the longest and know my past. I would have told Sweat pea but he is always out of town for business.

"Right, but she hasn't done nothing and why can't you have a little sympathy"

I didn't say nothing, I didn't know what to say. It's true she hasn't done nothing but this doesn't mean I have to be nice to her. She is after all the enemies daughter.

I leaned back at my chair and closed my eyes. Work has been a bit rough these past hours. Two meetings in person and the others on call plus a lot of paperwork.

Glad that Toni helped me out here and the only other person I could stand to be in the same room for a long period of time. There was a knock at the door making me open my eyes.

Toni stood up from her seat and walked to open the door. "Sweet pea glad to finally see you, it been a minute"

"Toni, has Jughead finally given you a break" he joked. I rolled my eyes.

"No but I'm finally not running errands for the day" Toni says allowing him to walk in.

"What are you doing here Sweat pea"

"Well first of all I found out your engaged and second of all not by you but by social media"

If I wasn't awake earlier I sure was now. "What do you mean by social media" I asked

"Well it's been all over social media how the son of FP Jones and former CEO of the Jones Foundation is marrying Elizabeth Cooper former daughter of Hal Cooper"

This is not good the media was supposed to find out the day after the photo shoot. I pulled my phone from my pocket and there it was notification of the former 'royal wedding'. Before I got to put my phone away my dad called me. I didn't want to answer but I did.

"Son"

"Dad what is this. The media wasn't supposed to know yet. It all over the news"

"Hal. He had an interview and spilled everything"

That fucking bastard. Is he not satisfied enough. Two day. TWO FREAKING DAYS before the photo shoot and he's spreading the news already.

I sigh before responding. "Alright dad gotta go I'll talk to you later" we said our goodbyes and ended the call.

"So am I getting an explanation" Sweet pea question. I ran my hand over my face in frustration. Not at him at Hal.

"You might want to take a seat Sweat's" Toni said patting him in the back and taking a seat.

"She knows" he said crossing his hands and taking a seat next to Toni, across my desk. "I really need to come more often."

The next hour or so I began explaining to him the whole story. He technically knows what happened to my mother but didn't know who was it that killed my mother that night and the reason why I agreed on marrying the enemies daughter.

Sweet pea stayed quiet before replying "Shit Jughead. I-I don't know what to say"

"So you didn't marry her for love then" he added

"No" I simply said

"I thought you finally found someone after all. Though I didn't really believe it"

"Glad to know"

We sat there in silence for a bit, I hated talking about my mother. My mother's loss was something that impacted all of us. I cried and cried for the first weeks of her death, but I had to stay strong for Jellybean. She was so young and me being the oldest I had to watch over her while my father recovered.

It wasn't everyday that someone losses their love once. The relationship between my father and mother was something I can't explain. They loved each other till death.

Father was happy with her but after her death he changed he wasn't the same person anymore, without my mother. He was still around and supporting both me and Jellybean but he still looked hurt. He may not show it but till this day I know he misses her, so do I.

I had amazing friends who were there for me. I'm glad I found all three of them I may not show them how appreciated I am for them but I am.

A text got me out of thought. I pulled my phone out only to realized it was Fangs.

"Shit" I whispered.

"What" both Toni and Sweet pea said

"There was a shooting where Elizabeth works" I put my phone back to my pocket grabbing my coat off my chair.

"Oh my god is she okay" Toni asked

"Yeah she is, Fangs got her out safely, thats where I'm heading now"

"The car is ready" Toni said following behind me as I left my office. Glad to have Toni as my assistant she does things I don't tell her to do, but need.

"I'm going to" Sweet pea said following behind us.

I clicked the parking lot button on the elevator. We had eyes on us when we all rushed out my office to the elevator but I didn't care. After all they should be working and not caring about problems that's not there's to bother.

The elevator rings when we got to the parking lot floor. I got out before the doors fully opened. I rushed to the car while both of them followed behind. Toni sat in the passenger seat while me and Sweet sat in the back seat.

"To 'La Petite Bijoutière' please and fast" I said to the driver. He nodded and started the car leaving the parking lot.

"Thought it wasn't for love" Sweet pea whispered

I didn't say anything but glared at him. He thought I wouldn't hear because he looked at me a bit shocked and pretended he didn't say anything.

Toni laughed but I glared at her too. She stopped laughing when she saw me glaring at her.

I kept looking down at my phone. Reading the messages Fangs would send me keeping me updated.

God this day couldn't be getting worse.
