JUGHEAD
"I believe you need a break"
"No I need to finish this and plus I have way more work to do that's waiting to be finished. So no I don't need a break"
I hear her sigh before leaving my office. For the past hours I've been working, I haven't taken a break, nor breakfast nor lunch as is currently 3:45 in the afternoon. Toni has been trying to get me to eat or take a break but I just can't.
Last night was something that shouldn't have happen, I do believe I was being a little harsh. Is just knowing that after years he still wants her back and wants to take her away, from me. I shouldn't have snapped at her, I saw the pain in her eyes for the way I was speaking to her.
It pained me seeing her like that, she flinched something that didn't go unnoticed from me. So I did what was best to do before I say something I didn't mean to say, so I left I left her in the kitchen alone and stormed off to my office.
"Jughead what is happening you never act like this. Did something happen?" Toni questioned as she entered my office.
I ignored her still looking down at the stack of papers on my desk. She's not half wrong, I do spend most of my time in my office but I eat and take breaks. The only food I had in the last 12 hours was the plate of food Betty left me last night. Even after the argument we had, she still left me a plate, that just shows how much I don't deserve her.
"Nothing everything is fine I just have a bunch of stuff that needs to be done." I say still looking through the stack of papers.
"No it's not just work so just tell me what happened. Did you and Betty fight." She was all I thought about but hearing be name made me put my pen down.
"We did."
"For what." Toni replied seconds later.
"Her ex sent her flowers." Knowing that her ex sent her flowers last night made my blood boil.
"Her ex?"
"Yes and she told me it wasn't a big deal and then it led to me telling her that I didn't want her around him but then she told me that I shouldn't care because I never did." I finished
"Jughead they were just flowers why did you have to make it such a big deal."
I know I did make it a big deal over flowers but they were from her ex boyfriend and him writing a note of how he loves her and hopes he can still forgive him. Just made me mad and made me snap at her.
"I know I've been told already"
"You should apologize to her." Toni says after I explain to her the rest of the story.
"I know I should but I messed up bad that I don't think she will forgive me." And I don't think I can forgive myself for what happened.
"Talk to her and see what happens next, just know that she's been through a lot and I know she didn't want you to be mad at her. That's why she might have avoided your questions."
She's been through a lot? I would have asked her about what she meant by that but I knew what I had to do and that is apologizing to her. I nodded at her and rushed out my office.
Maybe that's all I needed someone to knock some sense into me. I quickly made it to the parking lot and rushed to my car. I drove home as quickly as I possibly can.
I arrived home minutes later. When I entered into the house it was oddly quiet. The only lights on in the first floor were the kitchen lights. There was some takeout food and a glass of wine that was spilled over the table.
