HEADCANON CHRONICLING
THE EVENTS OF 1946-1947
- this is because i had no inspiration for an entire chapter and wanted to sum up what happened in the time between the end of s1 and the start of s2
- okay so they sort of got together at the end of the last chapter but neither of them really admitted anything
- so just imagine one afternoon sera (because she's not the type of gal to sit around and wait for someone else to make a move when it's sO obvious) turns around to jack and goes 'so are you gonna ask me to be your girlfriend or am i just going to have to keep calling you a 'work friend'
- and jack just goes BRIGHT red because damn he's been put right on the spot
- and for the first time ever sera sees him stammering
- "i... i don't... what do you... i'm so... i don't..."
- and sera just bursts out laughing because oh my god i can't believe the jack thompson is such an adorable stuttering mess
- but she puts it plain and simple: "do you want to be my boyfriend?"
- jack is just like ??? i'm supposed to ask you that
- so sera just smiles and kisses him and says something like "it's okay if you're scared"
- and of course big bad jack thompson isn't scared so he straight up says "you're my girlfriend"
- sera's eyes just light up because she is truly happy with jack for the first time since bucky
- so they go on as a couple for a few months, trying to figure things out without peggy and daniel finding out they're actually together now
- the first one to say 'i love you'? definitely jack
- sera doesn't want to pressure him into anything
- but he ends up blurting it out by accident
- sera brings him lunch on her day off because she knows he doesn't eat when she's not there to make him
- being the chief really takes up all your free time
- and she walks in with homemade sandwiches and a fresh batch of muffins for all the men in the office because she enjoyed baking (and she's trying to sweeten them up and get them to be nicer to her) and when jack sees her
- damn
- he's just like 'god i love you'
- and sera nearly drops the bag she's holding because wow jack just said he loves me
- and for a second neither of them really know what to say
- but then sera just walks up to jack and kisses him hard, completely different to the gentle exchanges they shared unto this point
- it's all jack can do not to take the rest of the day off after that
- sera whispers it back to him after they break apart
- and jack has never felt happier
- so they're officially together and in love and they're just such babies about people finding out
- but obviously peggy finds out when sera tries to bring jack back to the big house they're sharing with angie and she's a little drunk
- peggy pretends she doesn't hear them thundering down the hallway, laughing and whispering loudly to themselves, to sera's room and swears she's telling daniel in the morning
