Violet Pov:

"Only a little further Morningstar", I say, keeping my eyes peeled for my destination below. We had been flying for hours and I could feel Morningstar was just as tired as I was. My eyes were beginning to droop as they searched for my hideout. It was a gigantic beautiful waterfall with jeweled stones underneath the water where sand should be. I'd been coming here as an escape ever since I was ten, the first time being when my mother passed. I just wanted to get away from all the crying and looks of pity being sent my way. So with Morningstar I left and I discovered this place, thanks to the moonlight reflecting off the stones. They thankfully only sparkled at night which is why when anyone went looking for me in the past they could never find it.

When we finally landed, I immediately stripped to my underclothes and jumped off the cliff and into the water below. And just like that the nightmare that had been bestowed upon me seemed to disappear. This was mine and Morningstar's place, not much in life was big enough for her to enjoy besides the pit. But here in the vastness of it all she was as small as me, though her head still touched the top of the waterfall and she had to curl her wings some to fit in the cave behind it.

I gazed up at the moon high up before me wishing Morningstar was able to reach it, but we'd tried many times and it never worked nearly killing us both. "What do you think that bastard is doing now hmm? You think he went home? He should if he has a brain", I say allowed as I splashed Morningstar. "Speaking of his brain I should smash it to bits for that shit he pulled in the hall. Dismissing Violet Smitherman, ignoring me even, it makes me angry just thinking about it", I continue feeling my face grow hot.

I swim for a little while longer, then skip the stones, putting some in my satchel to take with me...wherever I go. And then finally when the sun was starting to rise I curl up underneath Morningstar's wings and fall asleep.

I don't know how long we slept for but when we woke up it was dusk. Gods I've slept the whole day away, I thought with a yawn. What's new though, the night after I was freed from that damned tower I always slept for a good amount of time. It was practically impossible to get any real sleep in that place, especially with my "betrothed's" brother always visiting me in my dreams. And now come to think of it, maybe this was the reason behind Lucerys's visits, he was trying to warn me of his idiot brother's arrival.

Even though he was dead I much preferred him to Jacerys. I could tell he was the nicer, more humble of the two. A shame Aemond slayed the wrong bastard. I pinch myself at that evil thought, I could only allow myself to be so mean otherwise I'd end up like my twin sister Vyctoria and I couldn't have that.

I know I'll have to return home soon despite what awaited me there, for Morningstar could only go so long without eating. And she was a picky eater like myself. But I wanted to give Jacaerys a little more time to give up on this hopeless arrangement and go home to his doomed house. But that didn't happen no of course not, what happened next was something so outlandish I still couldn't believe it days later.

           ~.~.~.~.~
"Think youself clever do you, not clever enough I suppose", Jacaerys announced in triumph. He had found Violet , something he still couldn't believe even now as he looked at her shocked face. A waterfall, he'd never seen one in real life only in books and it was more beautiful than he could ever imagine. But the boy didn't get to admire the paradise before him for long due to the sharp pain in his head.

By reflex the prince's hand shot to his forehead. Pulling it back to see his own blood, he didnt even have to time register that his crazed betrothed had thrown what looked like a diamond at him before she threw another one. "What the seven hells, are you trying to kill me", he shouted over the rushing sound of the water fall, his voice echoing. Violet stepped out from underneath the waterfall, the boy noticed she was nearly naked. He'd never seen a nearly naked girl before, he'd been too scared to go the brothels like other boys. "Actually yes, how'd you know", Violet replied. "Call it a hunch", Jacaerys shot back, watching the girl closely. The prince thought about drawing his sword. He'd be damned if he let himself die by the hand of some barbarian, no matter how heavenly she looked soaking wet illuminated by the moon.

"By order of your prince you will stop this madness", Jacaerys yelled dodging another stone. But of course Violet didn't stop, she only grew more vexed at the thought of some lowly Targaryen boy finding her special hiding spot. Jacaery's eyes widened in surprise as the girl with fiery red locs came charging at him with a dagger
crimson colored eyes a blaze.

Jacerys didn't really know what to do. He'd never fought anyone for real, let alone a girl, and especially a girl he didn't really want to harm. "Oof", Jacaerys grunted as he was pushed to the ground,Violet now on top of him. "I'll kill you", the Smitherman girl said, slashing at him. If the two hadn't been fighting in water Violet surely would've stabbed the prince by now. Jacaerys did his best to get the upper hand, especially when Violet finally managed to slash him on the arm. It stung to the gods and back and that's just what the boy needed to subdue the girl.

"That's enough Violet", Jacaerys commanded, after he had used his anger as strength to flip himself over on to his betrothed. Violet faltered for a moment, this was the first time she had heard him say her name and for what ever reason it stirred something in her. Jacaery's grip on her wrists was firm but not enough to hurt her. Their chest heaved somehow in sync with one another, their eyes bright with fury, hearts storming in their chest.

"Why'd my father sell me off to your house", Violet asked, still trying to buck Jacaerys off of her. But Jacerys was determined, exhausted, and fed up with Violet's antics and he'd only just met her. "Same reason my mother sold me off to yours", he seethed getting mad all over again at his mother. Giving one last failed to attempt free her hands, "I hate House Targaryen, and I hate you"!

Jacaerys rolled his eyes, inching ever so closer to her face, a new found somehow unfamiliar confidence growing within him. Maybe it was because he now had the upper hand and quite liked that biologically he would always be the more stronger of the two. "I'm not asking for you to love me, I'm asking you to marry me Violet", his voice silky.

The girl's face much to her dismay grew hot and she knew she was blushing. She hoped her skin was dark enough so he couldn't see. This was the first time anyone had ever actually asked her for her hand in marriage. She was used to a potential suitor asking her father or brother to give her away, never caring what the girl wanted. Violet swallowed hard, studying the face of her betrothed. Fair, unblemished skin, long thick lashes cradled his copper colored eyes, that actually in this light seemed to sparkle, reflecting the light from the jewled stones beneath him. His chocolate curls framed his chiseled face and he had rather plump lips for a boy she noticed. And freckles that reminded the girl of little brown stars littered his nose.

Violet felt squeamish, she didn't like the way Jacaerys was looking at her, didn't like how she was frozen underneath his gaze. So if only to end this godforsaken moment, "I'll think about it".
