Just like clockwork Chloe had arrived exactly an hour later. Sarah was still trying to scrub down the house when Chloe pulled up but eventually had to deal with how the house looked as it is. I don't know why she ever worried so much. The house always looked spotless.

It was the first time I had ever seen a shy side of Chloe, she wasn't as chatty and loud as she usually was and I could see how nervous she was. She seemed relieved when saw me. Even Tom looked a little out of his comfort zone, but they both seemed to relax the more Chloe and Sarah were talking. Paul didn't talk much, but he was always like that.

I told Tom I was gonna unpack and I left them to it. I hadn't been in this room since before me and Tom had even started uni. It was exactly the way I had left it. There were photos on the walls from mine and Tom adventure days, old clothes left in the drawers in case I ever left home in a rush, and even some of my old books on the bookshelf. I set my bag down on the freshly made bed, which made me think that Sarah had prepped the room in case I needed it during the summer.

I laid down on the bed, I had forgotten how comfortable it was. I could hear laughing downstairs, Tom and Chloe's voices trailing upstairs. I knew it wouldn't have taken long for Chloe to feel comfortable around here. It never did for me. Within minutes I felt myself dozing off into sleep.

When I woke up I had no idea what the time was. It had gotten dark outside so I reached for the bedside lamp, there was a note next to it.

'Dinner is wrapped up in the fridge x'

I could tell it was Tom's handwriting, I hadn't even noticed that he'd been in. I grabbed my phone, it was half ten at night! How long had I slept for? I saw I had a text from Mac.

Mac: Hey you x

He'd sent that 2 hours ago.

Me: Hey x

Almost immediately he'd responded.

Mac: Are you okay? Tom mentioned you was staying at his x

Me: Yeah.. Everything's fine x

I didn't need to go into the details of what happened. I'm sure Tom would have told him most of it anyway.

Mac: I wanna see you x

Me: You do? x

Mac: Yeah. I've missed you x

Can I come pick you up?

I thought about it for a moment. It was late at night, how would I explain where I was going? I opened my for just a crack. I could hear Tom and Chloe in his room watching a movie. Downstairs seemed quiet; it was likely that Sarah and Paul had already gone to bed. I text Mac back.

Me: I could probably sneak out for a bit x

Mac: Great! I'll be there soon x

30 minutes later Mac texted me that he was just round the corner from Tom's house. I opened my door again. Tom's TV was still playing but I couldn't hear voices anymore, they could have fallen asleep or were just watching the film. I tiptoed to the stairs and slowly went up them. I had been in this house enough times to where the creaky spots were so I avoided them all. I took the spare key of the key rack and then went out the front door, locking it behind me.

I went round the corner and saw Mac standing outside of his car, leaning up against it. He smiled when he saw me. I picked up my pace to reach him quicker. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in tightly.

"Finally" he whispered as he bent down to kiss me and spun me round. I put my hand on his neck to pull him even closer. It had only been a week since I last saw him but it had felt a lot longer. I hadn't actually noticed how much I'd missed him until we were finally together again.

He let go of me and opened my door. "Come on, let's go for a drive"

We went and got food from the only drive through that was still open late at night and then stopped at the park that most people only came to during the day. It had a pig pond in the middle that families would usually walk around, during the day ice cream shops, the gift shop and a place to buy duck food would be open. Now that it was dark there wasn't a soul in sight.

We sat on the bench near a lamp post. We were both surprised that they even bothered to put lamp posts here. I couldn't stop looking at Mac. I wasn't sure if I had just felt that long since I'd seen him or if he just kept looking better and better. He had a plain white T-shirt on and black jeans. His T-shirt showed off his biceps and I had to try not to stare at them. Although he made that very hard to do.

Mac set his drink down on the bench next to him and leaned down picking up some stones. "Let's see if your throw has improved" I threw my head back and groaned, knowing for a fact that it hadn't. I took the stones from him and swung my hand, it actually skidded across the water and I couldn't help but cheer. It must have been easier to do with stones instead of the rocks. Mac laughed and took his turn, it skidded across perfectly. I rolled my eyes. Of course he did it so easily and perfectly.

He lifted up his arm, inviting me in. I moved closer to him and rested against him, my head fitting perfectly on his shoulder. "I wish the whole of summer would be like this" Mac muttered, he used his thumb to rub my shoulder. "So do I". He slumped a little bit in his seat and took a deep breath, looking down at me. I met his gaze and before I knew it, he was kissing me again.

It was more tender this time though, and slower. He bought his hands up so that he could hold my head. I could feel him smiling against my lips.

"I hate the hold you have on me" he whispered

"I don't have a hold"

He pulled back enough so I could just about see his face. I stared deeply into my eyes.

"You do. Even since before I met you"

"How could you possibly have felt that way before you met me"

"Tom would tell us everything about you and show us all the pictures. I knew if we were to meet I would fall for you"

"That's insane"

He rubbed the back of his head "Yeah. Maybe". It was starting to make sense why we may have had a rocky start at the very beginning, I wondered if he purposely tried to avoid me because of that reason.

We headed back to the car but he didn't take me home. He pulled me into him as he'd opened his door, once again kissing me and trailing down my neck. He sat down in the car pulling me towards him, moving his seat back away from the steering wheel.

I straddled him in the driver's seat, he shut the door. It wasn't long before we were making love in the car. He pulled down the straps of my dress as I moved my hips, steam filled the windows.

He let out a moan as he finished, breathing heavily and my head was pressed against his.

"Run away with me," he said. I sat up, my hands still resting on his shoulders "what?". I was so confused, it wasn't what I thought he was gonna say.

"Not forever. Just maybe for a few days"

"When?"

"Tonight. My parents have a cabin they never use"

He wrapped his hands in my hair and pulled my back down. "Run away with me," he said again.

I didn't know if it was because of the effect he had on me, or the fact that I was on a high already being in that car with him., but I agreed.
