_______________________________Sophie and Kevin walked through the cramped halls of the K-9 Facility, their footsteps echoing against the cold concrete walls. The room was filled with boxes of spare robotic parts and half-built animatronic suits, a maze of metal and machinery. As they navigated the maze, Kevin suddenly stopped in his tracks, a smirk spreading across his face.
"You know what would make this place even more creepy?" he asked. "A Ronald McDonald ripoff that's already here?" Sophie said jokingly. Kevin chuckled, "Ha, good one. But I was thinking more like...a spooky ghost story." Sophie rolled her eyes, "Oh, great. And who's gonna play the ghost?" "That random gray rabbit doll in the backroom" Kevin said, Sophie raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You mean that old doll in the back room? The one that's all tattered and covered in dust?" "Yeah, that one," Kevin nodded. "Some of the other employees say they've seen it move around on its own...but I don't believe it." Sophie looked skeptical. "Seems a bit far-fetched."
"Exactly," Kevin replied. "But still...it's kind of creepy, isn't it? And besides, what's the harm in telling a good ghost story?" "IDK, it getting mad at us?" Sophie said, Kevin shrugged, "Psh, it's just a doll. What's it gonna do, come to life and attack us?" "Yeah, I guess you're right," Sophie conceded, but there was a hint of unease in her voice. Just then, a distant clanging sound echoed through the bunker, coming from the backroom. Both Kevin and Sophie froze, their eyes widening.
"What was that?" Sophie whispered. "Something probably fell" Kevin said, "Right...probably just a box or something," Sophie agreed, but she couldn't shake the feeling of unease. They started walking towards the backroom, each step feeling heavier than the last. As they reached the backroom, they saw that nothing seemed out of place. Nothing had fallen, and everything was still and silent. Kevin let out a sigh of relief, "See, told you. Just a box or something." Sophie nodded, but she still couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Just then, they heard a soft noise coming from the corner of the room. A soft, rhythmic tapping, like something was repeatedly hitting the floor. Kevin let out the most girly scream known to man and started throwing stuff at the doll. Sophie burst out laughing at Kevin's scream, "Wow, so tough." The doll sat motionless on the shelf as Kevin hurled random objects at it. Some hit the doll, some missed and ricocheted off the wall. Sophie tried to calm down Kevin, but he was in full panic mode. Finally, one of the objects Kevin threw hit the doll square in the face, knocking it off the shelf and onto the floor. For a moment, nothing happened. The doll lay motionless on the ground, seemingly defeated. But then, movement. Slowly, the doll started to stand up, its eyes fixed on Kevin and Sophie. The doll made a poor attempt into kicking Kevin before falling on the floor
Sophie couldn't help but chuckle at the doll's pitiful attempt. "I think you've got some competition for the title of 'Biggest Scaredy-Cat,'" she teased. Kevin shot her a glare, "Not funny!" The doll, still on the ground, started to twitch and jerk as if it were malfunctioning. Suddenly, its head snapped up, and its eyes seemed to focus on Sophie. It then started to cry, Sophie was so surprised by the doll's crying, she didn't know what to do. Kevin, on the other hand, was still in full panic mode. "What the- why is it crying?! What do we do?!" As the doll continued to cry, its cries getting louder and more distraught, Sophie cautiously approached it. "Shh, shh, it's okay," she tried to comfort it, crouching down beside it. To Sophie's surprise, the doll wrapped its little arms around her arm, clinging on tightly. Its cries started to subside, replaced with soft hiccups and sniffles. "Uh, Kevin? You seeing this?" Sophie asked. The doll pointed at Kevin, he froze, sweat beading on his forehead. "Wait, me? What did I do?" The doll nodded, its button eyes practically piercing through Kevin. "Kevin apologize to the doll" Kevin looked at the doll, then at Sophie. "You're kidding, right? Apologize to a doll?" Sophie crossed her arms, "If you don't, it'll keep crying." With a resigned sigh, Kevin knelt down to the doll's level. "Uh...I'm sorry, doll," he begrudgingly said. The doll grabbed paper and a marker 'nam is roket' "Rocket?" Sophie repeated.
