Jeremiah walks to his car, and I follow him while Belly stands next to him. I can't deal with this bullshit. She hated the fact that I liked Conrad, and when I took it into consideration and let her be with him, she goes for the other Fisher brother. "I'm coming," I say to Jeremiah as I get in the backseat of the car. I didn't know if Belly wanted to come, but if she did, she could sit with him in the front.

I get my phone, and Aaron rings me. I power off my phone; I couldn't deal with anyone right now. I close my eyes and end up falling asleep. I'm woken to the sound of Jeremiah and Belly talking.

"You know, I went to Cousins with my mom for the spring once. It's kind of weird being there when it's not summer," Jeremiah says.

"Yeah, I understand the feeling," I say, letting them know that I'm in the car ride as well.

Belly turns around, slightly surprised to see me awake. "Sorry, did we wake you?"

I shrug. "It's fine. I wasn't really sleeping."

"On a scale of one to ten, how much trouble do you think we'll be in when they find out we're gone?" Conrad asks, his eyes briefly flicking to me before returning to the road.

"Oh, I'm not getting into any trouble. I'm telling everyone that Conrad kidnapped me." I look at him, a playful smile on my face. His hand rests casually on the steering wheel, fingers tapping lightly to a rhythm only he can hear.

"What? Please. You jumped at the chance." Conrad laughs, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Yeah, only because I've never seen a snowy beach and I wanted to see you." I admit, my voice softening. The truth of my words hangs in the air between us.

"Me either." Conrad's voice matches my tone, the sincerity in his words making my heart swell.

"Then it's good we're both together to see it." I say, feeling a warmth spread through me despite the cold night.

"Last time I checked the weather app, there was only a 30% chance of flurries, but hopefully we'll get lucky." Conrad says, glancing up at the sky as if willing the snow to appear.

"Hey, did Susannah like the bike you got her for Christmas?" I ask, wanting to hear more about his mom.

"She loved it. Thanks to you. I was just gonna get her a bathrobe." He chuckles, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

"I know, that is what Steven got my mom this year." I say, laughing with him. The image of Steven proudly presenting our mom with a bathrobe is too funny not to share.

"Really?" Conrad asks, amused.

"Yeah." I say, still smiling. "Why do boys suck so bad at giving presents?"

"Honestly... I don't think she would have cared what I got her. You have no idea how happy she is that you're my girlfriend." Conrad says, his voice sincere. Ever since that day he came to my house and kissed me, I couldn't say no when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Yeah, I may not be over Jeremiah, but he didn't want me after all.

"You have no idea how happy I am that you're my boyfriend." I reply, my heart swelling. Conrad's smile in response lights up his entire face.
