Jade's POV...

I had been looking forward to a relaxing day at home today, but my plans were completely derailed because Jimin and Taehyung decided they wanted to hang out at my place yesterday. As the evening progressed, their relentless grilling me about the type of guys I chose to date became too much to bear, and by nine o'clock, I had reached my breaking point. I finally had to kick them out of my house to regain some peace and quiet.

With a mental checklist of items I wanted to pick up from Sam's Club and Victoria's Secret in my right hand, I grabbed my cell phone and car keys off the coffee table and exited my apartment.

Upon exiting the building, I observed the slightly overcast sky and the strong gusts of wind outside. "Perhaps it won't rain just yet," I muttered to myself, pulling my coat tightly around me as I headed towards my car. Barely ten steps from the building, the sky decided to open up and unleash a deluge of rain down on me.

Anger surged through me as I unleashed a string of expletives at Jimin and Tae, holding them responsible for the mess I was in. If they hadn't delayed me yesterday, I wouldn't be out here in this damn storm, getting drenched. I would be at home, relaxing on the couch underneath a warm blanket, watching a movie, or engrossed in a good book.

Still cursing out Jimin and Tae, I dashed towards my hunter green 2022 Honda Accord. The relentless flashes of lightning and the deafening  sound of the thunder almost made me cancel my plans of continuing to the store. I would have done that if my fridge wasn't in dire need of restocking, and my stomach didn't feel like it was about to eat itself.

I hopped into the car and turned on the heater to full force to combat the chill that had settled in my bones. The rain pounded against the windshield, creating a symphony of thick droplets that obscured my view of the road ahead.

Taking a deep breath, I gripped the steering wheel and cautiously maneuvered through the streets. As my car veered into the opposing lane upon hitting a water patch on the road, I found myself uttering a fervent prayer, hoping and wishing for a safe arrival at my destination.

As I approached an open parking spot near the entrance of Sam's Club, a woman in a beat-up blue Toyota Camry swooped in and took it before I could. "That's probably why your shit is fucked up now," I murmured quietly to myself.

"She's  lucky I'm not the same person I was back in high cause if I was I promise you,  this heifer would have returned to her car finding it sitting on four flat tires," I thought to myself as I searched for another spot.

After circling the parking lot a few times, I finally spotted another vacant spot close to the entrance. Grabbing my red and black umbrella from the back seat, I slung my purse over my right shoulder and exited the car, still a bit pissed off at the woman . As soon as I walked into the store, I encountered a kind elderly lady.

"Hello, and welcome to Sam's Club," she warmly greeted me.

"Hi," I greeted her back with a nod of my head, then proceeded towards a vibrant display of fruits and vegetables. "Shit ain't nothing going right for me today." I grumbled after realizing that I left my shopping list on the front seat of my car. This happened so often I began to question why I keep bothering to make a list.

As I stood in the produce section mentally reciting the items I needed - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, bananas, grapes, and green onions - a familiar voice behind me called out to me. When I turned around, Dr. Shoo was standing there with a surprised look on his face.

"Good morning, Dr. McCall," He greeted me with a big smile.

"Morning.” I simply replied.
