***Jade's POV…***

This week has felt like an eternity, filled with exhaustion and challenges that made me consider taking a day off, which is quite unusual for me since I enjoy my work. It hasn't just been physically draining but emotionally draining as well. The constant need to avoid Bryan and come up with excuses for not being able to talk to him has taken a toll on me. Juggling my busy work schedule and dodging Bryan has resulted in me not being able to spend quality time with Tae and Jimin as well, and they were understandably upset about it.

When they confronted me about it a day ago, their words were so harsh that I felt like they had chewed the little ass I did have off, leaving me with nothing to sit on. To make up for not being there for them tonight, I find myself stuck in my apartment, listening to Tae's intoxicated ass, rambling on and on about how much he misses his ex-girlfriend Maple. At the same time, he demands that I cook him a bowl of ramen noodles.

Tae's inconsolable tears for Maple tonight consumed him so intensely that concern for his emotional state overwhelmed me. Throughout the years of our friendship, I've never witnessed him so utterly broken by a woman, and it weighed heavily on my heart. His despair tonight tempted me to extend an invitation to Maple, urging her to come to my apartment and offer solace to Tae. Yet, the haunting memory of the tumultuous encounter between Jimin and me just a week ago restrained me. I certainly did not desire a repetition of that chaotic ordeal, jeopardizing the bond between Tae and myself.

"I'm starving, Jade. Cook me some ramen... right now!" he slurred, his arms flailing in the air.

"Tae, I promise you, there are noodles right here on the table," I calmly assured him, trying to ease his frustration. He angrily swiped his arms across the table, narrowly avoiding knocking the bowl of noodles onto the floor.

"Don't lie to me! There are no noodles here!" he whined. "If Kook had asked you to cook him a bowl of ramen, you would've done it without hesitation," he pouted, hanging his head low.

"Look, the noodles are right in front of you," I said, taking his hand and placing the bowl within his grasp.

"Oh... there goes my trusty old ramen," he muttered, bringing the bowl to his lips. "These noodles are cold, Jade. Did you serve me a bowl of cold, raw noodles?" he asked, his handsome face expressing disbelief.

"Of course not. They got cold because you didn't eat them," I replied, rolling my eyes in exasperation.

"Could you please prepare another bowl for me?" he slurred, his head swaying unsteadily.

"No, but I can reheat these for you."

"I don't want reheated ramen, Jades. And who even eats soggy, reheated noodles anyway?"

"I'm not sure, but you're about to become the first person I know to eat them like that or stay sitting here drunk and hungry," I grumbled, taking the bowl and placing it in the microwave for a few minutes.

"I'm going to tell Kook about the way you're treating me." He threatened, pulling his phone out of his back pocket. He placed the phone upside down to his ear and began shouting Kookie's name. "Why won't he answer me?" Tae whined, staring at the back of his phone.

"He's probably not answering because you haven't dialed his number." I chuckled, placing the bowl of reheated noodles on the table in front of him.
