Partnering of Officers Daniels and Vega

Lieutenant Crowley went to the hospital to check on Ryder who was confirmed to have a broken nose. Crowley said, "Are you OK, Daniels?" Ryder said, "Besides the fact, that fucking bitch struck me?" Crowley said, "I watch it if I were you. I've some complaints from some female officers about you about your sexist comments and keep in mind you're on your probationary period. Honestly, I should have you and Vega fired," 

Ryder said, "Are we?" Crowley said, "You guys are safe for now and I like to add for now. Any more of those sexist comments and you're going to sensitive training and/or possibly fired," Ryder said, "Is that it?" Crowley said, "You're going to be on light duty until you're fully healed and then you're going to be partnered with Officer Vega for at least a week," 

Ryder said, "NO FUCKING WAY!!!!!" Crowley replied, "YES FUCKING WAY!!!!!! unless you want to resign," Ryder was very upset of partnering with the person who broken his nose however his only other option was to resign from the LAPD. 

Ryder said, "With all due respect this is a fucking stupid idea," Crowley said, "Maybe it is however you guys need to trust each other because we need to trust one another as police officers and you guys need to let go of this High School bullshit and grow up. Besides that wasn't the incident that ended your acting career, was it?" Ryder said, "I'm guessing you saw that video?" Crowley said, "I did, I was two or three years in the department and it seemed little has changed based on your comments,"    

Ryder insulted said, "Is that it?" Crowley said, "Take a few days off," and Crowley left. 

Three weeks later, it was the first day of Daniels and Vega being partners. After Crowley's debriefing, he called Tori and Ryder to his podium and said, "Vega, Daniels I don't want any trouble from either of you, you guys are skating on thin ice as it is. Also, you guys need to let this High School shit go, it's been nearly ten years ago, let that go," Tori said, "Actually it's been nine years and it's still fresh for me," Crowley said, "I don't fucking care it was 20 years ago, let it go. Also, Ryder. Vega holds seniority so anything she tells you to do, you do. Is that clear?"

Ryder said, "Crystal," Crowley said, "Very good and Vega don't abuse your power," Tori said, "I won't," Crowley said, "Good, now get going," 

Tori and Ryder went to their assigned patrol car a Dodge Charger where Ryder said, "Nice," to which Tori said, "I'm driving," Ryder said, "Do I get a chance to drive? My FTO Malloy lets me drive," Tori said, "No and I'm not Malloy," Tori got in the driver's seat and Ryder in the passenger side and they took off to patrol the streets.    

A few minutes in, Ryder said, "Do you talk to your partner while you on patrol, or is it quiet for the 8-hour patrol? Malloy talks," Tori said, "I have nothing to say to you, Daniels," Ryder said, "OK but it's going to be a long shift if we don't. By the way, How's Trina doing? The last I heard of her she followed you to Berkeley after what happened to you and Midas. Did she stay there?" Tori said, "She did, she's now a hairdresser at a salon there and she hopes to own her own place either here or there or both," Ryder said, "Yeah, I thought about owning a gym with my buddy Mark," 

Tori said, "The Guitarist? What's he doing now?" Ryder said, "He's a session guitarist though he's also into fitness as well," Tori said, "Are you going to get Jay to invest?" Ryder said, "He's not interested," Tori said, "Is he still with the NFL Network?" Ryder said, "Yeah, he actually tried to get me a job there," Tori said, "What happened?"  Ryder said, "Well, just say Dale wasn't just blackballed for groping actresses and I was guilty by association,"

Tori said, "So that's the reason why you stop giving acting gigs," Ryder said, "Yep," Tori said, "It sucks getting blacklisted doesn't it?" Ryder said, "It does," Tori said, "Also, why be a cop?" Ryder said, "Because being a personal trainer got boring after a while. Why did you become a cop? Did your dad inspire you?" Tori said, "A little and watching a lot of CSI shows helped, it was either this or be a forensic scientist or a Crime Scene Investigator. Guessing I chose where the action was," 

Ryder said, "Seeing anyone?" Tori said, "I'm actually engaged to Robbie,"  Ryder said, "ROBBIE SHAPIRO? Why him?" Tori said, "After what happened I had to transfer to UC Berkeley and he was there at my lowest and long story short we started dating and he proposed after I graduated from the academy and we're going to marry in a few months," Ryder said, "What's he doing?" Tori said, "A little bit of everything, he's a teacher in Hollywood Arts, additional teaching at the School of Rock, and he does some DJing with Rex," 

Ryder said, "He still has that thing?" Tori said, "He does though he makes more money DJing if he brings Rex than without," Ryder said, "Must be a good gig," Tori said, "Anyway, are you seeing anyone?" Ryder said, "Nope, I am single,"

A few hours later, Tori was finishing up a traffic stop and got back in the car. Ryder said, "So is that the second vehicle we pulled over?" Tori said, "Third, you're missing one," Ryder said, "Just curious, have you fired your weapon on duty?" Tori said, "No, and I hope not to. I would ask you but you've only been a cop for four months now," Ryder said, "Five months and no I haven't. Has your dad?" Tori said, "He has," 

Then they got a call over the radio of a bank robbery in progress with Ryder responded, "Adam-25 responding to the call in progress," as they headed to the bank. Ryder said, "Looks like we will fire our weapons," Tori said, "Let's hope not, Ryder said, "Tell that to the bank robbers," 

When they got to the bank, two robbers were armed, had money bags, and one of them had a hostage. Tori and Ryder got out of their cars and drew their weapons with Tori yelling, "FREEZE ASSHOLES!!!!". The Robber without the hostage fired at Tori which her and Ryder ducked down. The bullets hit the driver's side door and Tori returned fire killing the robber. Then Tori joined Ryder in confronting the robber with the hostage. Tori and Ryder told him to give it up and let go of the hostage as a few more patrol cars arrived on the scene. Luckily, for them the robber was having difficulty between holding the hostage, the money bags, and his gun and he ended up tripping on the sidewalk. The hostage was able to escape and Ryder handcuffed, patted down, and read his Miranda Rights to the second robber.    

Later on while the crime scene was being processed, Commander Vega and Lt. Crowley came to the scene where Commander Vega hugged his daughter and asked if she was OK which she responded not really. Crowley said, "Understandable, I'm sure you know Internal Affairs will investigate the shooting and you are going to be placed on administrative leave until the investigation concludes. From the looks of it, I think the shooting will be justified but that's up to IA to determine. Daniels, you will be interviewed by IA and after that you can go home. I'll see if I can get Malloy to be your partner again until your probationary period ends," 

Ryder said, "Will I be partners again with Tori again?" Crowley said, "Probably not until your probationary period ends, after that I can partner with you guys for a week and decide later where to go. Also IA would separate you two going to the station to investigate," Commander Vega said, "I'll go with Tori," Crowley said, "Daniels, do you want to ride with anyone? I can join you if you want or I can Malloy to join you, he's here," Daniels said, "I think I'm good," Then the IA detective came in and said, "Officers Vega and Daniels with us," as they went to the station to be interviewed.

After a few days, it was determined that Officer Tori Vega was justify using lethal force and returned to active duty. After his Probationary Period, Ryder was Tori's partner for a week until they both got new partners.
