A week later, after an injury to Knight, Tori again partnered with Ryder for the first time since early 2020 pre-Covid with Tori driving the patrol car. Tori said, "I can't believe I have to partner with your sorry ass Daniels," Ryder said, "I'm not thrilled about it either Vega," Tori said, "That's Sargeant Vega to you," Ryder said, "Whatever, Sargeant. Anyway did you and Jade have lunch with Cat on Wednesday,"

Tori said, "Only Jade, Cat had a thing and canceled," Ryder said, "What kind of thing?" Tori said, "We don't know, Cat didn't elaborate on why she's canceled," Ryder said, "I have two questions, 1. Are you and Jade going to be friends again? and 2. You think Cat canceled because she didn't want you to see her because of what Jade told you?" Tori said, "One, we weren't really friends back then per se though we did have a nice lunch together. Well, I considered her a friend back then, she didn't even before not speaking with each other during college but things look good and at the step in the right direction and Honestly, I don't know if that's the reason that Cat backed out though she does know I'm a Cop so I wouldn't doubt it,"

Ryder said, "I do believe you guys were friends, Jade slashed my tires the Monday after the Full Moon Jam," Tori said, "Wait, Why? and how did you know it was her? There are other ladies pissed at you," Ryder said, "The cops found two puncture marks on each of my tires which resemble those coming from scissors and she did confess and she said it was what I did to you," Tori said, "How come you didn't press charges against her?" Ryder said, "I thought about it but she threatened to explain why she did it to the media and I didn't want that plus I just wanted her to pay for new tires which she did. Well her family did,"

Tori said, "WOW!!! That was the nicest thing anyone has done for me," Ryder said, "Even nicer than anything Robbie has done for you?" Tori was silent. Ryder said, "I was surprised she did it because she hated you but later on I heard rumors she had feelings for you. I didn't believe them but rumors got louder and louder in your senior year. Not to mention she is gay now," 

Tori said, "They were silly rumors, probably those damn tech guys who wanted to fantasize about two ladies together," Ryder said, "By the way, How was dinner with Jade? Starting to wonder if Cat canceled or Jade wanted an excuse to have you all to herself," Tori said, "FUCK YOU RYDER!!!!!" as Ryder laughed a bit.

Then a call on the radio of a domestic disturbance at 4650 Mexico Blvd which was where Midas Records was located. Ryder said, "Adam-25 responding to the call," Tori said, "Isn't that where Midas Records is located?" Ryder said, "Yeah, looks like you're going to see Cat after all and what's his face," as Tori and Ryder went Code 3 to Midas Records.

As they parked their cruiser, they saw an unmarked unit pull up toward them and the officers got out of their car, they saw Detective Lieutenant Jackie Gannon and her partner Lieutenant Frank Bailey exit from the vehicle as well. Tori said, "What the fuck are you doing here, Jackie?" Jackie said, "That's Lieutenant Gannon to you, Vega! What the fuck are you doing here?" Ryder said, "We answer a domestic disturbance call, You?" Frank said, "Questioning Midas," Ryder said, "For what?" Jackie said, "None of your fucking business, patrolman," as the officers/detective went to the building and to the top floor to see what saw going on.  The four of them went to the top floor to see what was going on. As the went to the reception desk, the receptionist told the cops that the person who made the complaint was in the conference room. Tori said he would talk to the victim and went to the conference room while Ryder and the detectives went to talk to Midas.

As Tori went to the conference room she was stunned that the person who called 911 was none other than Cat Valentine who was sitting on the chair crying with her assistant hugging her. Cat was roughed up a bit looking like her husband beat her. It made Tori's blood boil but she knew she had to do her job. Tori said, "Hi Cat, would you like to talk about it?" Cat also her former friend and told her assistant to step away and Cat went to Tori to hug her. Cat said, "Sorry I canceled, I've missed you," Tori who was upset with Cat in the past but let it go to be there for her one-time friend. Tori said, "It's OK, I'm sorry for bringing it up but it's my job, can you tell me what happened? Take your time," 

After composing herself for a few minutes, Cat told Tori what happened of how Midas smacked her numerous times and forced grabbed her. Tori wanted to go to Midas and beat the shit out of him but knew she couldn't do that. After Cat told her story, Ryder knocked and came in the conference room and Cat said, "Hey Ryder," Ryder said, "Hey Cat, can I borrow Tori for a bit?" Cat nodded and Tori left the conference room to talk to Ryder. Ryder said after noticing Cat's face, "Did he do that?" noticing Cat's bruises. Tori said, "He did," Ryder said, "Does she want to press charges?" Tori said, "She does, why are the detectives here?" 

Ryder said, "They questioned Midas on Drug and Human Trafficking," Tori said, "WOW!!! That's big. Also, should the FBI be questioning him as well?" Ryder said, "They did earlier in the week," Tori said, "He said what happened with Cat?" Ryder said, "Nothing except that she's overreacting but seeing her, it doesn't like she is. I'm making the arrest you be there with Cat and I'll call for backup since this will be a huge story,"  Ryder called for backup and contacted Crowley to prepare for the shitstorm that was about to happen. 

Ryder went back to Midas' office where he was yelling at the detectives then Ryder said, "Your wife wants to press charges so Mr. Midas who under arrest," He went to handcuff Mr. Midas however, Gannon stopped him and said, "I got this," and she proceeded to handcuff Midas and read him his Miranda Rights. 

He was escorted out of his office by Ryder and Jackie as Midas was screaming that he was being set up and that the police and his wife were out to get him, and that he was getting a divorce and make sure that his wife wouldn't work again as he was leaving to go to the elevator to go to the station. While he was escorted, Tori, Cat, and Cat's assistant waited until the elevator's doors closed. Bailey went to Tori and Cat and said, "Chances are he's going to be out in a few hours, so  can you help Cat get her things out of her home while our partners are getting Midas down to the station," 

Tori said, "I will," Frank said, "Are there witnesses to what happened?" Cat's assistant said, "Me and a few others including the receptionist. We're willing the testify against that asshole even if that means our jobs are gone," Frank said, "Looks it's going to be a long day or two did you record her testimony?" Tori said, "I did and took pictures of what that monster did to her, I'll send it to your phone," Frank said, "We should get her story now but we got enough and the sooner she gets her stuff out of the house the better but we will need to interview you Ms. Valentine," Cat nodded then Frank left to talk to the witnesses. 

Tori said, "Ready when you are," Cat collected herself and left for the elevator with Tori and her assistant by her side.
