AMAN
After breakfast we retreated to our room to choose our outfits for the evening reception party. I had chosen a royal blue 3-piece suit, and Roshni had picked out a beautiful royal blue gown.
I observed that Roshni's usual cheerful smile had disappeared after breakfast. So while she was busy checking her dress I quietly went to the cupboard and came back with a box.
I hugged her from behind, casually resting my head on her shoulder and handed her the box. "Here's a little present for my amor."
She tilted her head and looked at me before carefully opening the box. It was a set of dazzling diamond necklace perfectly matched with a pair of earrings.
"This is so elegant..." She said running her fingers through it. But when her gaze shifted back up to meet mine she paused, "but-"
"I know you're not a big fan of jewelry but I still wanted to give you this." I explained.
"Thank you. It must have cost you a lot." She said, smiling at me.
"Yes but I know you are worth it." I said. "Don't think much about what happened during breakfast, okay? Just focus on the evening party." I said holding her face.
"But why is she always like this? I haven't once seen her talk nicely to anyone, not even to Chachu or Ahaan..." I knew she would ask me this question but I'm unsure of what to reply.
"I'm not entirely sure of it because she never really opens up to any of us, not even to her own parents. Once mom told me that she didn't wanted to marry Chachu. She was actually in love with someone else, but her parents were against it. When our family got to know about it, it was too late. I think that could be the reason for her behavior.” I let out a sigh.
"But Chachu really loves her. You can see it in his eyes. Each time she does the same thing, I've noticed the hurt in his eyes. Despite everything, he never raised his voice against her. I don't understand why she never notices his love." I sat on the bed and Roshni settled beside me.
"It's never too late. I hope she will realise his love one day." She said resting her head on my shoulder.
I wrapped my arm around her and kissed on the top of her head. "I hope so too."
᪥
After lunch I went to the guest room with Ahaan to get ready for the reception while Roshni went to our room.
After getting ready I ran my fingers through my hair, applying gel to keep it styled. I fixed my watch on my wrist and finished the look with my favorite cologne.
"You look handsome, Bhai." Ahaan glanced over at me while fixing his hair in the mirror.
"Thanks. You also look good, but definitely not as handsome as me." I retorted watching him roll his eyes and continuing fixing his hair in front of the mirror.
I completed getting ready and headed toward Roshni. I paused for a minute before knocking on the door. After a few minutes, Roshni opened the door revealing herself in the same blue gown. She looked absolutely stunning in it, leaving me speechless.
"Wow! Stunning." Her cheeks turned the shade of pink upon hearing my words.
Suddenly my mom emerged from behind her clearing her throat and a playful smile on her face. "She's your wife now, you both can compliment as much as you want but now we must head to the venue." She reminded me. "I'll bring Ahaan and Ruhi, you both can wait down."
We both waited downstairs for the rest of the family. After sometime we were all set to depart for the venue. Roshni and I in one car, while Ahaan and Ruhi came separately in another car.
Upon arriving at the venue I stepped out of the car and walked to the other side to open the door for Roshni and help her come out.
The stage were decorated beautifully with lights and flowers. The guest were enjoying themselves, with the ladies gossiping with each other and the men discussing some serious topics.
I wrapped my arms around Roshni and we moved towards the beautifully decorated stage, with Ahaan and Ruhi. We settled on the couch and the ceremony began. Soon, guests began approaching us offering congratulations along with gifts.
Time passed with endless smiles until Sujay and Prachi approached us.
"It's your special day, so a dance is compulsory." Prachi said pulling us to dance while Sujay went to Ahaan and Ruhi.
"I'm not very good at dancing." Roshni said looking around at the guests nervously.
"It's ok. Just wrap your arms around my neck and move with me." I reassured her and wrapped my hands around her waist, making her gasp softly.
A slow and romantic song began to play, and we moved side by side. Soon other guests also joined with us on the dance floor. When the dance came to an end everyone applauded and we returned to our seats on the stage.
We continued to enjoy the party for a couple more hours before having dinner together with our family. Soon the guests started to leave and after an hour we made our way back to home. When we arrived at home, it was past 11. Everyone went to their respective rooms to take rest.
I collapsed onto the bed as soon as we stepped into our room. Roshni chuckled at me as she carefully removed her jewellery. I remained on the bed, watching her as she carefully placed the necklace back in the box and placed it on the cupboard.
"Do you always keep everything tidy and organized?" I asked with genuine curiosity.
"Yes, I don't like messy space and that's one quality that I appreciate the most in me." She replied with a soft giggle and opened the cupboard to take her towel.
"I'll be back soon," She said before heading to freshen up. I continued lay on the bed, scrolling through my phone.
A few moments later she came out of the bathroom wearing her night dress. I sat up seeing her, "I had contacted with the company your boss transferred you to and they have asked you to attend the interview tomorrow morning at 11."
"Really? I thought it would take some time..." She sat beside me on the bed. "Do you know about the company I'll be joining? Is it good?" She inquired anxiously.
"It's actually a good company, and I personally know the manager. I spoke to him about your job, and there is no problem. But you have to travel a bit. It's 1hour journey from here, but don't worry I'll arrange a car for you." I reassured her.
She smiled at me, "Thank you."
I stood up from the bed. "You are welcome, mi amor. Now it's time to sleep. I'll go and change." I went to the cupboard and took out my clothes, and headed to the bathroom to get changed.
When I came back after changing she was already asleep. I switched off the light and settled down beside her watching her sleep and gradually falling asleep myself.
