AMAN
We stayed in each others arms for some more time before breaking the hug.
Roshni's face was red and eyes were puffed up from crying so long. "We have to inform everyone." She said.
I wiped away her tears nodding. "Yes but before that we need to see a doctor. I'll arrange an appointment with Prachi. She's a gynecologist and we can trust her."
"Ok," Roshni agreed, her voice still a bit shaky from crying. She gave me a small reassuring smile. "I'll go and freshen up quickly." She informed me, getting up from the ground.
"I'll call Prachi and talk with her. Don't overthink things okay? Everything will be fine." She nodded and went to the bathroom to freshen up while I went to the balcony to call Prachi.
After the call I returned to the room and saw Roshni sitting on the bed wearing a yellow loose kurta after getting freshen up. Her baby bump was not visible yet but I couldn't take my eyes off her stomach.
"What did she say?" Roshni asked sounding nervous.
"Prachi said that she's free now so I booked an appointment. Are you ready?" She nodded.
I held her hand and supported her as we carefully made our way down the stairs. "We should shift to a room downstairs soon. It's not good for you to climb stairs from now on." She didn't replied but just smiled at me and held my hand tightly.
As we reached the living room we saw mom sitting in the living room reading a magazine. "Aman when did you came? I didn't saw you." She inquired upon seeing us.
"I came before an hour. I didn't saw anyone downstairs." I replied.
"I was in the kitchen." She then turned her attention towards Roshni "Roshni are you feeling better now?"
"Yes Maa." She replied her voice had a hint of nervousness but mom didn't noticed it.
I informed, "I've booked an appointment for her so we are going out now."
"Okay go safe" Mom smiled at us and I walked out with Roshni.
During the entire car ride to the hospital Roshni was silently looking out the window. After reaching the hospital we went towards Prachi's cabin and waited outside. After sometime a nurse came out and called Roshni's names signalling that it's our turn to go inside.
We entered Prachi's cabin and saw her sitting on her desk. "Come sit down." She said gesturing to the chairs opposite to her desk.
"Aman had called me earlier. So the pregnancy test came out positive?" Roshni nodded her head nervously.
"Yes, I used three home pregnancy test kits. They all gave positive results." Roshni spoke softly. Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Prachi inquired, "When you got your periods last time?"
"It's been around two months. My menstrual cycle has always been irregular due to my stress and anxiety so I didn't really thought about it." Roshni fidged slightly while replying to Prachi. I could feel her tension so I placed my hands above her trembling hands which was rested on her lap.
"We can do a sonography to confirm," Prachi suggested gesturing towards the room next to her cabin. "Come with me this way."
Roshni glanced back at me. Prachi noticed our exchange and smiled, "Aman you can come with her."
I nodded and held Roshni's hand and followed her to the room. Prachi instructed Roshni to lie down on the bed and Roshni did so. Then Prachi pulled up Roshni's top slightly and applied a cold gel to her abdomen. She clutched my hands in nervous and I gently caressed her hair.
