As Nancy was met with her brother at the lowest point she had ever seen him, she truly wondered if the Jets were a curse on her.

First her parents, then Tony a first time, Riff, and now Tony a second time. There was now nothing left in her life to spare but them.

She was done with blaming people on either side to find who started the fight, she was just tired of this never ending chase that always ended badly.

So as she looked to her brother, all she had energy for was to throw sarcasm into his face.

"Is that blood even yours?"

All Tony could do was widen his eyes in fear. In all the time he had known Nancy she had never looked this pale or tired. She always kept her head on her shoulders and wanted to always look out for her future.

But with her one sentence she proved that there was nothing she cared about anymore, not even the well being of her own brother.

"That's it? You're not going to see if I'm alright or even ask what happened last night?" He scoffed.

Nancy rolled her eyes, "Oh believe me, I know what happened. Riff's gone and his enemy's death is your fault."

The Wyzek boy dug his hands into his hair as his sister's voice escalated. The guilt was already starting to eat him up and it hadn't even been a full day since it happened.

The curly headed girl noticed his demeanor change the second the words left her mouth.

"Tony I-I'm sorry, I took it too far." There wasn't a response. "Were you able to see Maria again? How is she doing with all of this?"

Still, all that was heard from her brother was a deep breath. She could tell that he was trying not to cry in front of her. Nothing else was said before Tony then bolted to the basement to wash his hands in the sink.

Nancy followed after him immediately still trying to get him to speak to her.

She barged into the small bathroom and caught her brother's eye in the mirror. Fresh tears stained his face as the water in the sink was turning a light shade of red.

Holding her hand to her mouth once more, she tried to refrain from gagging at the thought of that being a dead man's blood.

Tony finally turned to her once he dried his hands, his eyes fully glossed over as he looked Nancy in the eyes.

"It's all my fault Nancy, I went to the salt shed to stop the rumble but I ran away the most guilty. Bernardo's blood is on my hands. I'm gonna be in jail again for a long time before I know it."

She guided him to his bed to sit down and take a deep breath. He was almost hyperventilating as he spilled out his secrets to the girl he trusted most.

Hesitating for a moment, trying to trust her heart that was broken, Nancy wrapped her hands around her broken brother to try and calm him.

Tony waited a moment before collapsing onto her and beginning to sob lightly. As he began to mumble things that she couldn't understand, she sat up and put her head on his shoulder.

"I...I didn't mean to Nancy." He mumbled.

She strong nodded and looked up to try and find him through his tears. "I know you didn't. We'll get through this together, I promise."

Before Tony could respond there was an aggressive knock on the basement door.  The siblings were both terrified that it was Lieutenant Shrank coming back for Tony, but it could also be Maria stopping in. There was no way of knowing.
