Her entire body jolted to the realization, feeling every inch of her skin shuddering as she looks at the tall man standing a few feet from her. If this is a dream, she doesn't know if she wants to wake up or stay in it. Are her eyes playing tricks on her today? Is she hallucinating? Why is he here? Why is he here, in Tokyo?

Why is Anirudh standing here, in the meeting "It has been such a long time, doesn't it?", his deep husky voice echoed in the empty meeting room, snapping bondita out of her drifting trails of thoughts.

That voice. That soothing voice of his, the way it feels like honey, the sweetest raw honey to her ears. Why does it feel so painful hearing it after so many years? She missed it so much it hurts, the pain began to resurface making it hard for her to breathe.

"How have you been?" he asked again as he stood there, eyes softly looking at bondita. It takes a whole lot of his self-control not to run to her and pull her into his embrace. He has been waiting for this moment. A whole lonely year without knowing her whereabouts have been nothing but a nightmare. A nightmare he wants to forget.

"Bondita....say something", he took a step forward but then he halted when he saw bondita look uncomfortable that she inched backward. As if not wanting him to get closer to her.

"What are you doing here?", her voice came out shaky, almost breaking. There are so many questions in her head making her head spin. She couldn't digest anything. Her mind went completely blank when she heard his voice a while ago as if everything had been wiped out of her brain. She couldn't take her eyes off Anirudh. She tried, but she was too shaken to even think about it.

'It has been too long' she thought.

"I am the Director"

Before she could even register his reply, her phone suddenly rang making her jump.

"Bondita, I am so sorry! I read the wrong name. Mr Mayank Gosh is the Co. Director, the one you're meeting is Anirudh Roy Chowdhury, he is the Director. Have you met him?" Mrs Endo's voice was heard but bondita seems to be zooming out of her focus, unable to take in anything.

"Ahh-yes yes. I am with him. Don't worry Mrs. Endo, no harm is done"

'No harm, really?' her subconscious mind mocked her.

Anirudh stood there, taking in the sight of bondita looking completely different compared to a year ago. Back then she was so young, looking so fragile and vulnerable. Her hair is longer now compared to the last time he saw her at the airport, and it's her own jet black hair. He scans her attire, admiring the way bondita looks so matured and grown-up dressed in high-waist black slacks, her navy-blue plain blouse tucked in neatly, accentuating the shape of her small waist. His eyes trailed back to her face-how he misses the soft features of hers.

He quickly snapped out of his daze when he realized bondita finally ended the call. He watches as bondita lets out a long sigh, staring at her phone before finally lifting her head. She looks at him with so much confusion, so many questions and so many regrets.

Who would have thought they would meet again after a year?

"Mr. Roy Chowdhury, I am here to welcome you to our office. I hope that you will feel comfortable here. If there is anything you need, please let me know", she bows politely, putting aside all her waves of emotions. It was hard, but she had to.

Anirudh  feels so distant when bondita spoke to him differently. A pain shot right through his chest but then he is in no place to question her. He wants to talk to her but now is not the right time. There are so many things left unsaid and he must not let this chance goes to waste. He wants to let bondita know everything.
