After a really long time I got out of the bathtub only to notice I was in lack of clothes to change into. I wrapped the towel Hawks left for me around my body and slowly stepped out, shyly looking for Hawks.
"Uhm...Keigo? Do you maybe have....some clothes for me..?", I sheepishly asked and after he turned around to look at me, he briefly looked flustered to me. Before I could investigate entirely he already went into his room and came out after a few seconds, handing me a shirt and loose pants of his, along with a boxershorts.
"I'm sorry, that's all I can offer you. I'm sure you'll look stunning in my clothings though", he teased with a sly smirk. Quickly I grabbed his clothes, clearing my throat before I swirled around again and went into the bathroom to change into his clothes.
There he is again..., I thought to myself. Hawks always used to be like this, he used every situation possible to pull out his mischievous smirk to tease me. Once, he even mocked and teased me when we were stuck in an elevator of the school building when I was in panic. I only smacked the back of his head and he chuckled in response.
The memory of it made me smile slightly for the first time in a long time. I got outside after I took care of my hair, and I noticed Hawks scanning me for a moment which got me a little flustered. After a moment he spoke up.
"As I said, you look stunning. Like always", he remarked with his typical smirk, sitting onto his couch and patting the space next to him, inviting me to join him. Ignoring his tease I followed his invitaion with a hint of nervousness, unsure of how to exactly approach him after all this time. But then he gently placed a hand onto my shoulder, genuinely smiling this time.
"Relax Y/N. I'm....really happy to see you again. Although I admit I... kind of convinced myself you wanted to avoid me, I'm sure you had your reasons though, seeing you like that now. But you don't have to tell me immediately. Take your time. You can even stay here for the time being, until we come up with a solution."
He paused for a moment and I looked away, his words caused mixed feeling inside of me. Gratitude for saving me, guilt for giving him the feeling I don't want him around anymore. I softly bit down my tounge in frustration.
Curse you, father...
"I have to go to work though. Just try to make yourself at home. I can give you my third key so you're free to go out if you want to", he brought up, causing me to snap out of my trail of thoughts. His third key...?
Before I could ask him he got up to get the item, handing it to me once he sat down again next to me. I accepted it and put it into the pocket of his pants I wore. For a brief moment we just looked each other into the eyes, but before we got lost in each others gaze, Hawks got up with a quick cough and patted my head gently.
"I'll be back by evening. With some food. Do you like chicken?", he questioned with an excited tone which made me huff out a small laugh.
"Sure, why not", I simply replied but somehow he cooed at me. "Look at her, finally smiling. I missed this view"
I blushed a little and snorted, pushing his arm playfully away. "Don't aww me, Keigo. I'm not a child anymore", I pouted but it only made him chuckle more.
"Maybe not a child, but still as cute as always"
"Work, Keigo"
"Yes ma'am", he teasefully bowed down before he made his way on the balcony. Preparing to fly off, he quickly shot me a smirk, looking at me one last time as if he wanted to take in the view of me. "Take care". And with that, he disappeared into the sky.
I sighed and looked around, investigating his living room a little more carefully and curiously now that he was gone. Can I really live here for now...? I pulled out the key he gave me for his apartment and stared at them, immersed deep into thoughts. Who has his second key? Maybe his agency?
For a few minutes I just stood there but decided to rummage his kitchen. I felt a little bad but old habits broke out of me and I ate nearly everything out of his refrigerator. It has been so long since I filled my stomach completely that I couldn't hold back.
I noticed the soup that stood onto the stove he cooked for me too late, and I froze in place giving me a facepalm.
Are you serious Y/N?, I awkwardly looked around as if somebody could see me. I sighed and also ate the soup.
After I was finished I plumped down onto his couch, trying to digest all of the food. An ashamed feeling washed over me, noticing I basically robbed Hawks. I placed a hand onto my face and sat there for a few minutes before I decided to take a walk, supporting my body to work on all that food. I made sure his keys were in my pockets, closed his door to the balcony and I left his apartment, locking the door and leaving the building.
The fresh breeze filled my nose and almost woke something familiar within me, but I shook it off. I'll never have to be homeless again ans this though was almost too good too be true.
Am I really worth being this lucky...?
And as if I jinxed it, I felt a dangerous presence approaching me. I froze in place as I recognized the aura coming out of the dark.
"D-Dabi..."
