Everyone were having a blast that night. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, chatter, and the kind of genuine joy that comes from being surrounded by those you care about. The members were finally getting the good rest they always hoped for,
However, Jungkook was an exception.
From the outside, he seemed to be enjoying himself, laughing along with the others and participating in the shenanigans. But deep inside, something was off. Jungkook couldn't shake the heavy ache in his heart, a sensation that had been gnawing at him since their reunion. Despite his best efforts to stay present and engaged, his mind was clouded.
It wasn't just a fleeting sadness; it was a deep, persistent pain that seemed to stem from somewhere profound. Jungkook tried to hide it, but a few tears escaped his eyes, falling involuntarily. He quickly wiped them away, not wanting to dampen the mood or draw any attention to himself. The last thing he wanted was for the others to worry about him when they were finally enjoying a well-deserved break from their lives.
The sensation in his heart was strange and unsettling. It wasn't the usual stress or exhaustion from their daily schedules. This was different—more intense, more poignant. It had started subtly when they first reunited, a dull throb that he tried to ignore. For a while, it had subsided, but now, it was back, stronger than before, bringing with it an overwhelming sense of pain and longing.
Jungkook couldn't understand what was happening to him. He replayed the events of the day in his mind, trying to pinpoint the moment when the ache had started or any trigger that might explain his feelings.
Was it something someone said? A fleeting memory that resurfaced? Or perhaps an unspoken fear lurking in the corners of his mind? The harder he tried to make sense of it, the more elusive the answers became.
What's wrong with me?
In the midst of the group, Jungkook stood on the edge of his emotions, teetering between the joy of the present and the sorrow of the unknown. He wished he could reach out to someone, to share his burden and find comfort in their understanding. But the words failed him, and he remained silent, battling his inner demons alone. All he could do was hope that, somehow, the ache would fade and he could find his way back to the lightheartedness that everyone else was experiencing.
"Guys I wanna go and sleep for the day..." Jungkook spoke bringing him all the attention.
"You sure you're ok? I've been observing you and you were having something in your mind haven't you?" Jimin who have observed the younger since a long time now spoke out.
"I'm fine, really, I'm just too tired with all the journey we had so I wanna take rest..." Jungkook replied even tho he know that his hyungs are smart enough to understand that it was a lie.
And they sure knew that he was lying.
Jin opened his mouth to speak but was cut by Hoseok "I think you need rest Jungkookie, Jin take care of him ok? I think others also need rest right?" He said going beside Jungkook.
"The main reason we're here is to finally get some good rest," Hoseok said, his eyes scanning the group. He seemed to have an unspoken understanding of what was going on in Jungkook's mind.
Jungkook glanced at Hoseok, a small glimmer of gratitude in his eyes. It felt as if Hoseok knew exactly what he was feeling, even without Jungkook having to say a word. Hoseok's presence was comforting, a steady anchor in the swirling sea of emotions that Jungkook found himself in.
