Namjoon stared at his phone, Yoongi's last message glaring at him as he quickly grabbed his jacket. His heart raced, a mix of worry and frustration bubbling up inside him.
Jin, why are you like this?
He hurried through the hotel, practically jogging as he made his way to the exit. He could already picture Jin sitting at a table, a few empty shot glasses in front of him, probably brooding over something only Jin would stress about.
Yoongi's words echoed in Namjoon's head as he exited the hotel.
"I want you guys to finally open your damn eyes and see how much in love you guys are!"
Yoongi was right, of course. But Namjoon wasn't ready to admit that yet-at least not when things are this chaotic between all of them. There was also another reason as to why he never expressed his feelings officially,
He is not sure
He is not sure of the future they might hold if he finally expresses his feelings.
What would they actually do when they finally are in an official relationship?
What would be the difference, cause things would remain the same even if he's just a friend to Seokjin right? What's gonna change? They will hang out the way they used to even if he doesn't confess his love
Right?
As he opened the main door, he spotted the small resto-bar Yoongi had mentioned. It wasn't crowded, but the dim lights spilling out of the windows gave it a cozy, intimate atmosphere. Sure enough, through the glass, he saw Jin sitting at a corner table, nursing a drink with his signature stoic expression.
There he is.
Namjoon pushed open the door, the warmth of the bar embracing him as he made his way toward Jin. Jin's eyes flickered up at him, and they lit up slightly as he raised his glass in greeting.
"Namjoon-ah," Jin called out, his voice slightly slurred but steady. "What are you doing here?"
"What do you think?" Namjoon replied, sliding into the seat next to him. "Yoongi texted me. He's worried you'd drink yourself unconscious. So here I am."
Jin chuckled softly, taking another sip from his glass. "That cat's always worrying about me."
Namjoon glanced at the row of empty shot glasses and sighed. "Maybe he's right to worry. You've had enough, don't you think?"
Jin waved his hand dismissively, but there was a heaviness in his eyes that Namjoon couldn't ignore. "I'm fine. Just needed to clear my head."
Namjoon frowned, leaning in closer. "What's bothering you, hyung?"
Jin paused, swirling the liquid in his glass. "You ever feel like... you're running out of time? Like no matter what you do, it's never enough, and everything's just moving too fast?"
Namjoon blinked, taken aback by Jin's sudden vulnerability. He had never seen him like this before-so openly tired, so unsure.
"Sometimes," Namjoon admitted quietly. "But you're not alone in this, Jin. We're all in it together, remember?"
Jin gave him a small, appreciative smile but didn't respond right away. Namjoon could feel the tension in the air between them, thick with unspoken words and lingering feelings that neither of them had the courage to confront. Yoongi had been right-there was something more between them. Something neither of them could keep brushing off as just friendship.
