The Queen of Hearts traversed the portal of the White Rabbit's warren in her crimson caddy, hurtling towards Auradon Prep with the accelerator pedal pressed to the floor, determined to reclaim her disobedient daughter. However, her progress was abruptly halted by four guards—the same ones who had gossiped at Red's arrival. One guard cautiously approached and tapped on the driver's side window, "Identify yourself," he commanded. The Queen fixed him with a withering glare, "You know perfectly well who I am. I won't waste time. I'm already livid, and it would be unwise to provoke me further." With a nod, the guard signaled his colleagues to open the gate.
The Queen disembarked from her vehicle, casting a disdainful glance around her. "I haven't missed this place at all. Step aside; the Queen has arrived," she muttered under her breath as she strode confidently towards the courtyard. Her presence caused everyone, from the lowliest student to the most authoritative teachers, to tremble, whispering in hushed tones that only served to inflate the sovereign's already considerable ego. One teacher, upon seeing the Queen, hurried off to alert Principal Uma, who was in her office.
Meanwhile, Red sat isolated at a table, engrossed in a muffin and meticulously reading the school regulations. "What ridiculous rules," she muttered to herself. Her mother approached, her eyes narrowing. "Oh, Red, look at you," she sneered, snatching the muffin from her daughter's hand and throwing it to the ground. "Remember what I always told you: sweets are for the weak," she continued, scrutinizing Red from head to toe. "And by the looks of it, you've become one. Did you really think I wouldn't notice your naive little trick?"
Red, unprepared for her mother's arrival, scrambled to find words. "Mother, this is my future. I decide what to do," she asserted. The Queen's face contorted in rage as she began to shout, "YOU DON'T..." She glanced around, noticing the fearful eyes upon her, and lowered her voice to a hiss. "You don't have a choice. We are more alike than you think," she continued, whispering menacingly.
Principal Uma entered the courtyard, flanked as usual by her pirate entourage. "Queen of Hearts, what a splendid surprise. I didn't expect to see you here, especially since you missed the welcome ceremony," she said, with a hint of sarcasm. The Queen took a few steps toward Uma. "Uma, another villain turned soft. But anyway, you know... my naive daughter neglected to inform me of her invitation here." Uma stepped closer as well, "It's Principal Uma now. You should be grateful; I've provided..." As Uma spoke, the Queen distracted herself by deftly shuffling a deck of cards, tossing them from one hand to the other with a practiced flourish. "Do you mind?" Uma snapped, annoyed. "Actually, I do," the Queen replied, gathering the cards into a single deck. "Mother, what are you planning?" Red asked, worry etched on her face, but the Queen silenced her with a look of sheer disappointment.
The Queen moved to the center of the courtyard, drawing confused and silent stares from the students. "War," she sang out, tossing the cards into the air. The sky darkened with ominous red clouds that unleashed lightning, transforming the cards into the Queen's loyal guards. The students tried to flee, but the guards surrounded them. "Mother, stop this!" Red pleaded. "My dear, foolish Red, remember, you brought this upon yourself," the Queen said, throwing more cards that expanded and solidified into iron, blocking all exits.
Uma and her crew tried to fend off the guards with their swords, but their efforts were in vain. The pirate was soon restrained. "LET ME GO!" she screamed, but her commands fell on deaf ears.
"Calm down, it's not as if you've never seen a coup before," the Queen mocked, climbing atop a table still laden with trays of food, which she kicked away. "This is madness, even for you," Red interjected. "Madness that it took me this long," the Queen retorted. "Now I'm tired; guards, seize her and silence her." At her command, the guards advanced towards Red, but Elias was quicker. He removed his gloves and conjured an ice barrier to protect his friend. Chloe, seeing the barrier form, rushed inside, and the three found themselves trapped within it.
Red reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out a time machine stolen from the Mad Hatter. "I KNEW IT, YOU ONLY BRING TROUBLE!" Chloe shouted, lunging at Red and grabbing her arm. "LET ME GO!" Red yelled back. "NO, STOP YOUR MOTHER, THAT'S AN ORDER." They struggled until Chloe's arm accidentally hit the clock.
A torrent of sparks enveloped the girls. Elias tried to intervene, but it was too late—the two vanished into thin air.
