Alastor's POV

Her hazel orbs flashed in glee as Opal picked up another vinyl from the shelf. "My father loved this song." She smiled fondly, lightly running her fingers over the title. Her gaze finally met mine and my breath seemed to get caught in my throat. "If that's the one you wish to pick, then we can go pay for it now," I offered, gesturing to the front counter of the small shop. She nodded happily. My breath hitched again, how cute..

Opal approached the man working the counter who greeted her with a flirtatious wink. "Good morning, beautiful. This all for ya?" He asked, reaching out for the vinyl in hand but his touch on hers lingered more than it needed to. "Mhm~" she hummed, leaning forward on the counter, presenting the man in front of her a rather appealing view. "Say, I cant remember if that tag said 45 cents or 85-" The worker was quick to blurt out the answer, loud and incorrect for that matter. "35 cents, gorgeous."

Her grin grew in size, only then did I get what she did. This poor man was just played like a fool. She reached down into her purse but stopped at the sound of change hitting the counter. "Al, I could've paid for it-" She protested. Taking the vinyl from the man, snatching it more than I meant to, I shush her with a chuckle, "Dont worry your little head about it, dear! My treat"

Leaving the store, listening to Opal mindlessly hum a song of hers, one she sang at the lounge and became a fan favorite, I cant help but wonder how she's not more out there with her music. She only ever preforms at the lounge. "Opal darling?" Her humming came to a halt as she shifted her attention back to me. "Have you ever thought of putting your music in stores?" I questioned, holding up the vinyl in hand.

She smiled bashfully with a chuckle, "Of course I have, its goal of mine, but I have no idea where to start. That, and Im not entirely sure how things would work out with you know who." She sighed, looking at a rose bush as we walked past. "He's just a problem I rather not deal with."

Her smile barely lingered the more she spoke, the spark of hope in her eyes that was present at the start of our conversation now fading as she considered the odds of reaching her milestone. "Do you really believe he'll be an issue?" She nods, not even acknowledging the smile on my face. I'd like to see him try. "Nonsense! Dont you remember our deal, my dear? No harm shall come to you for as long as you live."

She looked at me with admiration. Pure, genuine affection. It was undeniable. Her lips turned up into a playful smile as she joked, "And what am I supposed to do if you die on me first?"

A chuckle of my own escapes my lips, "What really are the odds of that now darling?"

Eventually, Opal and I made it back to my manor after running a few more errands. We even split at some point, and I took the chance to rush back to my old radio station in town. A colleague of mine is experienced in music production and was able to fill me in on the basics and lend me some small, needed items. Telling him I'd be back soon to complete everything. Opal met me back on the street with a puzzled look as to where I disappeared off to.
