After several hours of traveling, Izuku, Hikari, and Rody take a break inside an old farmhouse to get some rest for the night before they can move again.
"That's not great." Izuku said while looking at the Otheon travel guide book with Hikari. "Doesn't look like anything's crossing the border from here."
"We'll have to borrow a car or any vehicle that will get us to the border ASAP. Otherwise, we'll be stuck walking."
"Walking?" Rody questioned the red-haired girl. "You're crazy." He sat up. "Did you forget how heavy this thing is?"
"If you get tired, I can just carry you on my back." Izuku offered. "After all, that's what strength is for, right? Helping people out whenever they're in trouble."
"Izuku, if we do end up walking, we can take turns carrying him, okay?" Hikari suggested.
"Thanks, I'd appreciate it."
Rody stared at the pair for a moment before giving a half-hearted smile.
"Heh." Rody lays back down on the hay. "Maybe fix our current situation rather than treating me like a backpack."
"Don't worry, we will. Now, let's get some sleep."
"Right." Izuku replied.

Rody becomes distressed over leaving his siblings alone, remembering the unbearable childhood of his past. He remembers when he and his siblings lived with their father, Eddie Soul, a famous engineer who felt great affection for his children, who were reciprocated. One day, his father gave him a puzzle box to solve, and when he did, inside, there was a locket necklace, a gift for taking care of his siblings. However, after some time, Eddie Soul, for some reason, abandoned them to join the anti-Quirk cult of Humarise, resulting in Rody and his siblings being kicked out of every house and losing their friends, being able to live only in the shantytown. The hate he felt towards his father that day made Rody break the necklace he gave him.
Rody can't bear the idea of his siblings suffering even more for not being with them for those moments, so overnight, while Izuku and Hikari sleep, he takes the briefcase. Pino vigorously shows her distaste for his action, but Rody chooses to ignore his bird companion's protests and goes off to secretly report to the police. Pino manages to wake up Izuku and Hikari and take them to where Rody is.
Outside, Rody spots a search helicopter arriving. He waves to it, and the copter lands.
"Are you with the police?" Rody asked, shielding his eyes from the copter's landing lights as someone got out of the helicopter.
"Hand over the package." The man demanded.
Rody, thinking he's a policeman, hands the case over to the stranger.
"So yeah. This means I'm free to bounce, right?"
"Where are your friends?" The man slowly walks closer to Rody. "The three of you know, don't you?" The man, who turns out to be a Humarise agent, Rogone, transforms into a beast that resembles a Japanese Oni. "You must've figured out by now the reason we're after the briefcase."
"No, no, I swear!" A terrified Rody shakes his head as he backs away. "We haven't got a clue!" Rogone didn't listen to Rody and prepared to kill him. Rody tripped and fell down. "Please, my brother and sister need me back. They're only kids. You have to let me go home!"
Rogone raised his spiked club hand to kill Rody. Just then, Hikari arrives to save Rody, attacking Rogone with Dragonfire. Izuku appears next and attacks Rogone, knocking him back into the helicopter. However, it turns out he was accompanied by Beros, who prepares to shoot an arrow at Rody, until Izuku jumps in the way to save him. Hikari immediately uses Steam Veil and Sunlight, managing enough of a distraction for the three of them to escape with the briefcase, much to Beros' frustration.
