The Light of a Hero: World Heroes' Mission

Reunited

After days of traveling, Izuku, Hikari, and Rody finally reach the Otheon-Klayd border in the canyon.

"The path is heavily guarded." Hikari informed the two boys while looking through a pair of binoculars. "We're not gonna be able to go this route without fighting our way through."

Izuku looks up. "Our only choice is to scale these ridges."

"Yeah." Hikari and Izuku stood up.

"Get on my back." Izuku offers Rody a ride on his back. "Hurry."

"Hikari." Rody holds the briefcase toward Hikari. "Take this. It'll be difficult for Deku to carry me with that injury from the arrow. This is where I say goodbye."

"Okay, I -" Hikari stopped midsentence when she processed the last sentence Rody said. "Wait, goodbye!?"

"Hold on." Izuku said. "The truck's out of gas. We can't leave you alone in a place like this."

"He's right! How about Izuku carries the case and I carry you on my back."

"Come on." Rody said. "You both know how fast I can run in a pinch." He shrugged. "I'll scrounge up some food. Then I'll wait for you. You guys go figure out what's up with this case. That's what we're here for."

"But, Rody." Izuku is hesitant.

"I'm counting on you, heroes!"

Hikari and Izuku stared at Rody, then at each other. With a determined nod to one another, they decided to listen to their new friend.

"Okay, Rody." Hikari gave in. "As soon as we meet up with our team and find out more information about this briefcase, we'll come back for you."

Unfortunately, before Hikari could take the case from Rody's hands, the trio heard the whirring of a helicopter. They gazed up at the sky and it turns out that it's another Humarise helicopter. They are once again attacked by Beros and another Humarise agent, Sidero. She shoots arrows at Izuku, Rody, and Hikari, but Hikari is able to use her Aqua Slicers to destroy the arrows and Izuku is able to evade quickly despite his wound. Sidero uses his Quirk to detach Iron Balls from his knuckles and gives them to Beros, increasing in size and mass when fired, making things difficult for Hikari and the two boys.

"Ah, damn it." Rody exclaimed as Izuku carried him over his shoulder. "They're gonna flatten us!"

When Hikari saw that one of the massive iron balls was about to strike the two boys, she used her Aqua Pillar to help them avoid it. Izuku latches onto the helicopter with his Blackwhip and nearly crashes it by attacking it with a Delaware Smash Air Force Kick. During the scuffle, Rody loses the briefcase, and when Hikari picks it up, she is attacked by Sidero causing her to almost fall off a cliff with the briefcase. She's holding onto the ledge with one hand and holding the briefcase with the other.

"Himawari!" Izuku and Rody ran to help their friend, but Beros continues firing iron balls and arrows at them.

Then, Sidero appeared and hovered above Hikari while holding one of the giant Iron Balls over his head.

"For the salvation of humanity!" Sidero bellowed as he prepares to finish the female hero off.

Before he could eliminate her, ice suddenly appear out of nowhere and freezes the villain in place. The ice reached Hikari and she used the water from it to get herself off the ledge and back to Rody and Izuku.

"Wait, is this Todoroki?" Izuku queried as he glanced at the ice.

He and Hikari turned their heads to where the ice came from, and sure enough, Shoto is there using his ice and fire Quirk. 

"You learned nothing from Hosu." Shoto said. "Your codes are still hard to decipher."

Beros shoots arrows at Shoto, but he used his ice to dodge the attack, and Katsuki started chasing after the archer. As Shoto was about to pass Sidero, the Humarise agent surrendered. 

"Wait." He called out to Shoto. "Free me, I'll do whatever you want."

"Tell me everything you know and maybe I'll consider it."

"Fine, yeah. You got it!"

Beros shoots arrows at Sidero to prevent him from talking before continuing her confrontation with Katsuki until she runs out of arrows. Finding herself cornered, Beros chooses to jump out of the helicopter into the chasm, right before it crashes.

"Himawari, are you all right?" Izuku asked.

"Yeah." Hikari dusts some dirt off of her clothes. "Thanks to Todoroki. What about you two?"

"I'm okay."

"Yeah, me too." Rody replied. "But I'm not sure how."

"Is the case okay?" Shoto asked while walking to the trio.

"Yeah." Hikari showed the briefcase to her friend. "It's right here. I didn't let it go when that big guy cornered me."

"Thanks for the help, Todoroki." Izuku said. "But how did you find us?"

"All thanks to their flashy attacks. I spotted you and Yagi from the train." Shoto notices Rody. "Is he the one you were talking about on the phone, Yagi?"

Hikari nodded. "Yeah, that's right. He's been pegged as a criminal, too. His name is Rody Soul."

"Hey, thanks for the assist." Rody thanked Shoto. Pino lands on his shoulder. 

"More importantly..." Katsuki entered the conversation as he lands behind Rody, startling him and his bird companion. "The damn case." He points at the briefcase in his girlfriend's hands. "It's somehow connected to Humarise."

"What?" Izuku questioned Katsuki. "Wait, are you certain about that?"

"Well, that explains why we were being attacked left and right." Hikari recalled. Her mind went to the police and the mass-murder accusations. "Are there Humarise followers in the police force too?"

"Yes." Shoto answered. "Our goal was to save it and the two of you. We thought it was possible we'd be able to get some useful intelligence."

Suddenly, Izuku sees something under the briefcase.

"Himawari, let me see the case!" Izuku takes the case from Hikari and looks at the bottom.

"What's wrong, Izuku?" Hikari asked. 

"A compartment. Himawari, you were right!"

'I'm more surprised that you remembered that suggestion.' Hikari thought.

The five hid behind a huge boulder and examined the hidden compartment. The compartment contained a puzzle box. Rody sees that it is the same as the one his father had years ago, so he offers to solve it, and after doing so, the five discover that inside, there is a micro SD and some kind of device. The five head to the nearest town in Klayd to investigate it.
