Two Paths

Crimson dawn or endless night,
Two futures clash within my sight.
A shield held high, for those I hold dear,
Or a lifetime lost in endless fear.

Nights unravel, sleep's a distant star,
Haunted dreams tear sanity apart.
A hero's end, or a soul's despair,
Which path awaits, I cannot share.

Crimson hues paint the battlefield's art,
My heart a shield, a defiant start.
I'll stand as a wall, unwavering and strong,
Though shadows of doubt may linger long.

But in the quiet, when the world is still,
Another path unfolds, against my will.
A barren landscape, where joy can't reside,
A prisoner of darkness, where hope has died.

Nightmares weave their tapestry of dread,
Sleep's embrace denied, rest fled.
Torn between valor and a soul's demise,
I yearn for dawn, where clarity lies.
