SANEMI POV

I finished telling Giyuu everything, a goofy grin plastered on my face. It felt good, Like a weight had been lifted, But....there was something else, a fluttery feeling in my chest that I couldn't quite place.

"Ugh, forget it," I muttered, shaking my head. I was getting all flustered.

I looked at Giyuu, and he was just staring at me, his expression unreadable. "You pitying me?" I asked, trying to sound tough, but my voice came out a little shaky.

He chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that made my heart skip a beat. "No, you're pretty cool," he said, a genuine smile spreading across his face.

I frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"

"You've been through a lot," he said, his eyes full of warmth. "And you're still standing. That takes guts."

My cheeks flushed, and I felt a warmth spread through me. "Shut up!" I said, trying to sound annoyed, but I couldn't help but smile. "Let's go!!"

"I hope to get to know you even more," Giyuu said, his eyes holding mine. "I really like you."

My face felt like it was on fire. My heart was doing a crazy little dance in my chest. What in the world was happening to me?

"Shut up," I mumbled, trying to sound cool. "Don't get any ideas just because I told you all that. I still don't like you."

I could feel my cheeks burning, and I hoped he didn't notice how much my heart was racing.

I don't understand why I feel this way.

Sunlight, a sharp arrow through the curtain, jolted me awake. I kept my eyes closed, stretching out on the bed, feeling the familiar ache in my back. Wait. I hadn't dreamt about it. The damn thing. And why did I feel so... good?

I grabbed my phone, checking the time, but the first thing that caught my eye was a message from Giyuu. Last night.

A smile, thin and hesitant, crept onto my face. Wait, what the hell? This weird feeling... I threw the phone back on the bed and swung my legs over the side.

Confused. My heart had been pounding last night for no reason. Was I sick? Was I going to die?

I marched straight to the kitchen, grabbed a piece of bread from the fridge, and didn't even bother to heat it up. Genya was already at the dining table, laughing with his friends. It was early in the morning... wait, I hadn't actually checked the time.

"Nemi!! You woke up late, it's already 10. That's... new?" He chuckled, turning back to his friends.

Yeah... it was new.

I retreated to my room, slamming the door shut.

What was happening to me? This wasn't a normal morning. Something felt wrong, deeply wrong. It wasn't a nightmare, not exactly, but... I felt weird. Unusually good. I'd woken up late, and last night, while talking to Giyuu, my heart had pounded like a drum. am I Dying? ... oh, fuck.

I flopped back onto the bed, and just as I settled, my phone buzzed. It was Giyuu, another message. My heart hammered against my ribs, and my face burned.

Seriously, Giyuu, what the hell did this fucker do to me?

"Hey, wanna come to our house? My parents aren't here, like overnight. It's so boring here."

"Yeah, sure. I don't have anything better to do anyway."

As I sent the message, Obanai also messaged in our group chat.

"Yo, wanna hang out?"

"Nah, I'm good."

I don't know why I chose giyuu over this two idiots, but yeah.. I don't know.

_________

I decided to head over to Giyuu's place at 4 pm, so it was still early. I figured I'd kill some time with a few rounds of my favorite video game.

Honestly, I was just trying to avoid thinking about the fact that I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life.

Just as I was about to land the final blow on the boss, a knock on the door startled me. I quickly scrambled over to the door and opened it a crack, expecting to see genya. Instead, I was met with a girl... Nezuko, if I remembered correctly, a friend of Genya. She just smiled at me, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Uhh... why?" I asked, feeling a little confused.

"Giyuu's here," she said, her smile widening.

"What?" I muttered, surprised. That fucker was always so early. "told him I wasn't even showered yet, so he should wait," I said, slamming the door shut with a frustrated sigh.

I finished getting ready and walked out of my room, heading downstairs. Of course, Giyuu was already there, a faint smile playing on his lips. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt that strange, familiar flutter in my chest. What was this weird feeling?

I glared at him, trying to mask my confusion. "You're so freaking early," I muttered, walking past him.

The car hummed to life as Giyuu slid behind the wheel, a smug grin playing on his lips. "Ready?" he asked, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine.

"Why did you even pick me up?" I snapped, my voice laced with irritation. "I told you I'd come to your place."

He chuckled, the sound like a warm breeze rustling through leaves. "I just wanted to."

"If I get bored, I'm breaking your face," I threatened, leaning back in the seat and closing my eyes.

"You wouldn't dare," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "You're with me."

"The fuck?" I mumbled, opening one eye to glare at him. His eyes, usually so stoic, held a playful glint that made my stomach twist.

"I'm not joking," he said, his gaze fixed on the road.

"You should shut up," I muttered, but the words felt hollow. Beneath the frustration, a strange warmth bloomed in my chest. It was confusing, unsettling, and I couldn't quite understand it. This feeling...i can't understand.
