Something felt different when I opened my eyes, and I looked around to see that I was surrounded in beautiful bright white light, and everything looked magical and in a way that I had never seen before.
Something called for me to take a step forward to go further into the light, but for some reason I was rooted in one spot, and no matter how hard I tried to listen to the "voice" that called me to the light; I couldn't move.
I pursed my lips in annoyance and bit back a small groan before I moved a hand through my hair and across my face only to pause when I didn't feel something I had been used to feeling for as long as I could remember.
There was no fur...
I moved my hand from my face and looked at my hand to see that it wasn't a claw but an actual hand with skin and flesh, naked with no fur to be seen.
I twisted my hand from front to back and looked down at my other one to see that it was also naked and not covered in fur.
I had a human form again...
The curse was broken.
Excitement bubbled in my chest, and I turned to my left, half expecting to see Belle near me because that was where she had been when I fell asleep. "B-" I stopped when I noticed that she was not by my side, and my heart ached.
Oh...
Memories of the fight filled my mind and then being shot at by Gavin filled my mind before it was replaced by Belle's tearstained face kneeling over me with a small frown on her face, furrowed brows, and worry filling her eyes.
I groaned and placed the palm of my hand on my forehead and took a step back, closing my eyes and gritting my teeth when a headache appeared out of nowhere.
Was I dead?
Something shifted in front of me, and I removed my hand from my forehead and opened my eyes to look that way and see a beautiful female standing there with a warm smile on her face and power filling her white eyes.
The Moon Goddess...
Instantly, I knelt to the ground and submitted, my mouth growing dry and my heart pounding hard and fast in my chest. "Luna..." I said and submitted further. "Please, forgive me, for I have failed you."
The female above me chuckled sadly and shook her head while she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Hush now, my child," she said, her voice soft and melodious. "You have not failed me yet, my son."
I pressed my lips into a thin line but didn't say a word while my heart ached and became filled with pain. I didn't know how she said that I didn't fail her, especially since I was sure that I was dead and my kingdom, and my clan, were left in pieces for Belle to sort out and to put together again.
Belle...
My heart yearned to be with my mate, my beautiful Belle and to treat her the way we should've treated her in the beginning, but I knew that wouldn't be possible now that I had lost my life and wouldn't be with her any longer.
The Moon Goddess smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest. She squeezed my shoulder reassuringly before she removed it, putting it in front of my face so that I would take it. "Come, my Son," she said. "Take my hand. Let's let you stand and stand tall."
I hesitated and looked at her hand before I took it and let her help me stand. I didn't say a word while I looked at her, and I couldn't help but wonder what she wanted me to do.
The Moon Goddess smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest. She squeezed my hand reassuringly before she let go and placed her hand behind her back and clasped it together. "How do you feel, Your Majesty?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.
