~SAMANTHA~
"Can I know where we're going?"
It's been a while since we got in Asher's car. He's driving me somewhere, but I can't seem to find out where.
"Nope", he replies.
"Bakery?"I try to guess.
"No."
"Park?"
"No."
"Cinema?Theater?"
"No. And no."
"God, where are you taking me?", I sigh.
A laugh escapes his throat.
"I don't have any other ideas. Gas station?"
We laugh together.
"It'd make a pretty bad first date, wouldn't it?"
"It would", I reply. But then I realize: "Wait, what?"
I look up at him. Once the car is stopped at the red light, he turns his head towards me, staring at me.
First date?
"What do you mean?"I ask
"Just kidding", he replies.
But I can see it in every part of his face: he is lying.
He finally stops the car in front of an ice-cream shop.
"You know it's midnight, right? It's closed", I say.
"Trust me", he replies.
Can I? Can I trust him? When all my life all the people I trusted broke my heart? The answer should be no. I shouldn't be able to trust a stranger like Asher.
Yet, something in me murmurs that it's not a stranger. And somehow, he has all my trust. Maybe it is because he is Finn's best friend and I trust Finn?
He opens the car door for me.
"Thank you", I murmur as I get out.
I can't remember a time when someone did that for me.
"You ready, Sam-Sam?"
"What are you up to, Shi-shi?"
"Shhh", he puts his index finger on his lips. "We need to be discreet, agent Sam-Sam"
"Alright, agent Shi-shi", I reply, whispering as inaudibly as he does.
"Will you?"He offers me his hand.
I put my hand in his.
We walk a little closer to the ice-cream shop.
"Do you wanna know a secret?"he asks.
"Do I have the choice?", I raise my eyebrow.
"Not really", he makes a face.
I bit my bottom lip not to smile at his eyes, but this doesn't stop a bright smile from breaking on my face.
He looks for something in his pants pocket:
"The shop is owned by Phineas' aunt who gave the keys to her son for the holidays. And I asked Edouard, who had the keys, to take them."
He shows me a bunch of keys in his hand.
"Oh my God", I whisper. "It means we're staging a hold-up but we're actually allowed to?"
"Exactly, Sam-Sam."
He searches for the key to open the door on the side of the shop. I look around us, afraid that if someone finds us, they'll think we're breaking into the shop.
