~SAMANTHA~

"What are we doing today, my favorite guide?"Ivy steps in the kitchen.

"You're up?!"

"Yep."

I look at the time on my phone set on the counter: 7:49.

"You're up", I repeat, still not believing the greatest lover of sleeping in I know got up before ten.

"Don't make a big deal out of it, Sammey", she says while opening the fridge and taking the juice bottle out.

I fake choking on the water I just drank, coughing.

"I survived the whole school year even though I woke up early, two months won't make any difference", she continues as pouring the juice in a glass.

"Oh my God", I stand up to hug her from the back, "Vee-vee won't sleep in!"

She sighs, trying to sound annoyed but I can see a smile on her face:

"Let it go, Sam. It's just to enjoy the vacations."

"If you say so", I let go of her, smiling brighter.

Once we're dressed up, me in my white linen pants and beige top, and Ivy in her everything-white outfit, from her tennis skirt to her t-shirt and to the jacket tied around her neck; we finally begin the visit.

First, I take her on the walk alongside the beach.

"This is the best time of the day to go here", I say.

Ivy smiles at me.

"What is it?"I ask

"Nothing."

"It surely isn't 'nothing' ", I reply, using air quotes.

"I just love it here already. And God you're going to a party tomorrow, Sam!"

I roll my eyes.

"I'm only going because you forced me to."

"And after this party you'll be the one forcing me to go to another one."

"Not sure about that", I shake my head.

"We'll see", she closes the debate, filled with confidence.

I sigh to express my annoyance but Ivy knows I'm not really annoyed.

She knows me better than anyone, she is this one person that was my past, is my present and will be my future. She is my definition of FOREVER.

And I know, I know she'll say I'm way too poetic and I make a poem out of every silly thing but Ivy...she's worth making a poem for. Actually, she is herself a poem, a gorgeous one.

From the very beginning, from our first meeting, I knew soulmates don't have to be lovers. She became my sister with the years and will always be *my soulmate*.

"What are you doing, Vee-vee?"

She stopped at a parking ticket machine.

"Trust me", she replies.

She hit the button to pay a ticket and type a number plate: 'IVY3SAM'

I smile as I understand what she's doing. She prints the ticket, choosing the '20 free minutes' option.

Handing me the ticket, she prints another one, with another plate number this time:

'SAM3IVY'.

"And voilà!", she declares with her French accent.
