~SAMANTHA~
Gavin and Ivy are still dancing to the sound of 'Where We Belong' by Jasmine Thompson. Asher and Phineas left a while ago, leaving me alone at the table, turning my glass over in my hand. Coming to this party wasn't the best idea I ever had.
"Need some company?"Asher sits across from me before I even reply.
"Sure", I answer even if he has already sat.
"You said something?" he asks, the music being so loud we nearly hear each other.
I shake my head in a negative way because it doesn't matter anyways.
As I watch the others dancing, enjoying the party, I wonder a new time what I am doing here.
You're here for Ivy, you idiot.
"You're not used to going to parties, are you?"
I look right back at him:
"Because you are?"
He chuckles.
"More than you think", he replies.
"Well, why aren't you dancing, then?"I ask while resting my arms on the table.
"Don't know. I guess I just didn't ask"
He gets up.
Finally, I think, I'll be alone.
"Will you give me this dance?"Asher's voice asks.
I look up from my drink.
He stretches his hand out, waiting for my answer.
"Seriously?"I chuckle.
He nods.
Why not, after all?
I look in the room. A little further, I can see this 'Gavin' and Ivy. I can have some fun too.
"Alright", I reply as I get up and put my hand in his.
That's the moment I realize what I just agreed to. I never danced with a boy before, never went to a party like this before, never did one of the things I'm doing tonight.
The song ends and changes to a slower one.
I internally laugh. Is this some kind of joke?
This is the kind of song you slow dance to.
"Don't you want to wait for the next song?"I ask as we walk to the dance floor.
"Why wait to dance?"he replies.
Ugh, he doesn't understand anything.
We stop at a free spot.
'Say you, say me', the song goes on.
Asher puts a hand on my waist. I put mine on his shoulder.
We dance at the same time, the loud chatter instantly fades away as I look in Asher's eyes. His deep hazel eyes are the beautifulest ones I have ever seen.
Stop it, Sam!
I look away a second, as the song speeds a little.
Yet, Asher doesn't let go of me.
"You don't like to talk while dancing?"he asks.
"I've never really..."I begin.
What am I going to say? That I have never really danced with anyone before?
