Namjoon knocked on the door of Jin's office, the room that had once belonged to their father. The weight of their father's legacy lingered in the air, a constant reminder of the responsibilities they now shouldered. As Namjoon entered, he found Jin sitting on the couch, his face etched with worry.
"Are you okay?" Namjoon asked, his voice filled with concern.
Jin looked up, his eyes betraying his turmoil. "I've been thinking about Yoongi. That night, he spent the entire time in front of my door. I feel disgusting, Namjoon. He was shaking so hard."
Namjoon sighed, his heart heavy with guilt. "I know. I was thinking, what if it had been Jungkook or Taehyung? We would have run to them, pulled them into a hug, and never let them go. I feel like a villain too."
"And what if someone really was there?" Jin asked, his voice trembling. He nodded and closed his eyes, the weight of their neglect pressing down on him. "I don't know what to do anymore. I'll check on him today, I guess."
Namjoon nodded, understanding the depth of their collective failure.
Yoongi couldn't go to school that day. He was still unconscious, his body ravaged by a high fever.
Even Jimin and Taehyung, who had bullied him relentlessly, couldn't shake the image of his shaking form from that night. Their worry gnawed at them, a constant reminder of their cruelty.
Jin returned home early, his mind consumed with thoughts of Yoongi. He found Jimin and Taehyung in the living room and walked directly to Yoongi's room, only to find it empty. Panic set in as he turned to Jimin and Taehyung.
"Where's Yoongi?" Jin asked, his voice tinged with urgency.
"He was absent today," Jimin replied, a hint of worry in his eyes.
Jin's heart raced as he headed to the security office, instructing the guard to check the CCTV footage from that night. The grainy video confirmed his worst fears—someone had entered Yoongi's room, but it was too dark to identify the intruder.
Fear gripped Jin as he realized none of them had Yoongi's phone number. They had no way to contact him. Jin decided to wait for Yoongi, hoping he would return soon. The hours dragged on, and with each passing moment, Jin's anxiety grew.
Feeling restless, Jin decided to cook dinner. He instructed the maid that he would prepare meal for Yoongi as well.
"Sir... We never deliver food to Yoongi," the maid said hesitantly.
"What?" Jin asked, his eyes widening in shock.
"The first day when we sent food for him, he said he would take care of his own food," the maid explained.
"And you didn't tell me?" Jin's voice rose in anger.
"Sir, I thought you wouldn't care," the maid replied, her voice trembling.
Jin sighed, feeling a wave of nausea wash over him. He reached for his phone and called Namjoon.
"Namjoon, can you check Yoongi's account? How much money has he used?" Jin's voice was desperate.
"Okay, hyung. I'll let you know," Namjoon replied.
A minute later, Namjoon called back. "Hyung, he hasn't used the card even once!"
Jin felt dizzy, his world spinning out of control. "What have I done?" he mumbled, his voice barely a whisper.
