WE HAVE our preseason game against Puerto Rico today. and guess what? We're traveling to Columbia, South Carolina for it, which means I get to set foot into the school that made me who i am again today. A'ja is making everyone wear South Carolina outfits because we won the NCAA title this year.

And I, of course, had no problem doing so.

"UH OH, another gamecock in the building!" A'ja yelled, as i entered the locker room. I wore a Garnet & black colored cropped SC hoodie which displayed my six pack, and some baggy ripped jeans with a pair of Red Cement Jordan 4's. My curls were out as well.

"Prepare to be sick of us this entire season. Us Gamecocks take this shit serious!" A'ja said to everyone in the room, pointing between her and I. I smiled and started looking for the locker i use to use which was occupied by Martin. she gonna have to come up off that one.

"Martin, you're at my locker." I told her, pointing my keys at her, her eyes widened and she grabbed her stuff out of it, putting it in the empty locker beside my locker, "Thank you."

I looked her up and down, seeing she was wearing a white SC sweatsuit, and her hair was in a low bun. I laughed to myself, cause i know she probably felt some type of way about wearing it since we beat her this year.

"You feel weird being in here? cause we whooped y'all asses back in April?" I teased her, getting my jersey and shorts out of my bag. Kate gave me a look, she tried to look angry but it didn't work.

"And won the NCAA title!" A'ja added her input, making the team laugh. Kate shook her head with a small smile on her face.

"I do feel weird. especially with this sweat suit on." Kate gestured to her body up and down, aw... she'll get over it.

I shrugged my shoulders at her, "sucks to suck."

We beat Puerto Rico, Coach Becky let us rookies get in for about ten minutes

We beat Puerto Rico, Coach Becky let us rookies get in for about ten minutes. I only scored 8 points in the game. and I was ready to go home.

I feel like i did pretty well, hopefully my game doesn't slack and i don't get waived before the season starts. being around this team is already a wonderful experience, we haven't had a dull moment yet.

"Rookies, you guys did pretty good. this is a new level of competition for all of you but you guys managed. so good job!" Becky said in the locker room, the vets cheered the rookies on, slapping us on the backs for our hard work.

I went to my locker, and got dressed in a different outfit that i had brought. something more comfortable. "Who am i sharing a hotel room with?" i asked no one in particular, Coach Becky pointed to Kate and Dyaisha Fair.

I have no problem sharing with Dyaisha. but Kate? it better be three beds in that mf.

"It's like y'all want them to fight at this point," Syd exclaimed, waving her jersey around with her hand on her hip. "Ava, baby, if you want you can come room with Me, Kelsey and Jackie."

"and where would she sleep? cause i sleep wild, so my bed is a no." Kelsey asked, shaking her head.

"Um, the floor. duh!" Sydney answered, rolling her neck. I gaped at her and held my hand to my heart. "Nah i'm just kidding, i'm sure it's a pull out couch in there somewhere. if not, you can get the bathtub."

"Okay nevermind, i'll stick with Sunshine and Dyaisha." I immediately declined, laughing to myself. I could see Kate look at me out of the corner of my eye, she was giving me her usual confused look.

"Sunshine?" I heard Jackie mumble, she wasn't too far from me so i heard her. I too wanna know what made me give her a nickname.

"I told the people of twitter that we was gone keep y'all apart. I hate lying." Syd said, typing on her phone.

"Kate, you scared of Miss Ava?" KB asked, pointing at me but looking at kate who was scratching her cheek. The girl shook her head slowly, I mugged her. and she just pursed her lips, looking the other way.

"We're enemies," i joked. Kate's eyebrows furrowed deeply like she was offended.

"Enemies? I don't think I like that title." kate gave me a tight lip smile when i tilted my head at her.

"well that's too bad, sunshine."

Kate put her hands in her pockets, nodding her head. Everyone immediately switched the topic at hand as we got left the building to get on the bus. Sydney had forced me to sit beside her.

"Okay Rookie, let me see your nose." Sydney said, pinching her index finger and her thumb on the bridge of my nose, tilting my head up. "Kelsey said you can only breathe out of one nostril. is that true?" she flashed her flashlight at ny nose to see the inside. weirdo.

"I can breathe out of both. but i can barely breathe out of my right one." i answered, looking at her fingers that were still on my nose.

"Hmmm, your nose is surprisingly clean. no boogers or nothin." I slapped her hand away from my nose and grimaced at her. Syd laughed and started watching some shoe on her phone. she looked like an ipad kid, the screen was all in her face.

We got to the hotel, and they had given me the little card thing for our room. my roomies followed behind me and to the room. I put the card on the tap thing and opened the door. there were three beds, we're lucky.

I picked the one in the middle.

"i'm showering first. might take me about an hour." i said, getting clothes out of my bag. Kate and Dyaisha's heads flew towards me.

"An hour?" Kate exclaimed, she was scratching her head, giving me a passive look. i looked at the both of them, back and forth.

"Yeah, whats wrong with that?"

"an hour though? we sweaty and dirty," Dyaisha pointed towards her and kate who nodded in agreement. i rolled my eyes at them and walked to the bathroom.

"i guess I'll just take like 30 minutes." i said to make them feel better.
