Avalon Hills August 18, 2024 (real life.)
I WOKE UP in a great mood. like a really really great one. i did my entire morning routine with a pep in my step and a happy smile on my face. i even drove to work humming songs i hadn't heard in decades. All because today is a big big day. not because we have a game against the sparks today but because...
It's my 23rd birthday!
And i'm live in Las Vegas now so of course i'm going to turn up, heavily.
I walked up to the doors of the facility, someone from the media team was there recording. I happily waved at the camera, "It's my birthdayyyy!" I said, bending over to show a lil booty jiggle.
I slid my card into the thing and opened the door to walk into the building, it was quiet and cold in here. these bitches better have the locker room decorated with balloons and a banner saying "Happy Birthday Avalicous!! (aka big booty)"
Oh, and there better be a cake lit up and handed to me. or else, everyone is going to feel my wrath.
My slides flapped against the bottom of my feet as i jogged to the locker room. when i opened the door, all i saw was everyone getting dressed. why am i always the last one here?
And why the hell is nobody noticing me? or wishing me happy birthday with a bunch of sweet kisses to the face? what'd going awnnnn???
I stood by the door, holding the strap of my backpack on one shoulder. i probably looked homeless since i only had one a pair of sweats, a cropped muscle shirt, and i had a scarf wrapped around my braids.
I cleared my throat, catching everyone's attention, "Hey people, it's a lovely Sunday mornin' innit?" i asked, looking around the locker room with a tight lip smile on my face.
All i got as a response were tired head nods.
"Guess what today is, guys!" I said giddily
"Game day?" Jackie asked, glancing at me while putting her practice clothes on. i blinked at her, cause why is everyone being so dry and lame?
"Uh, yeah but it's something else..." i trailed, i rolled my hand around trying to get them to quickly come up with an answer.
They all look clueless!
I scoffed, and walked to my locker, opening the big doors. i threw my bag into the locker and pulled out my practice clothes. now my entire mood was sour.
