NERVES. Ava's nerves were all over the place. she sat in the locker room, elbows on her knees as she leaned forward; her water bottle was in her right hand and she stared at the carpet floor. she felt this weird feeling in the pit of her stomach. anxiety.

She was about to play the second game of her entire career, and she was also about to see her ex girlfriend for the first time since their break up a year ago.

Avalon hated seeing her ex because for one she was always reminded of how badly their breakup affected her. and she knew she would most likely go back to the girl again, they were on and off back in college.

"You look like you're about to shit on yourself. talk to mama. what's wrong, my adorable little munchkin pie." Syd sat down beside her favorite rookie, awaiting an answer. Ava scrunched her face up at the woman's use of words, syd was never a serious person.

"just nervous. that's all."

Syd furrowed her eyebrows, "Lil bit, you wasn't nervous the last game so what's so different now?" she asked, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees like Ava.

"My ex is out there." Ava revealed, wanting to launch her water bottle at the wall from the thought of her ex.

"the one that cheated on you with your best-friend and then lied about it to your face and then you took her back and she cheated on you AGAIN with your ex bestfriend? that one?" Sydney asked, she kept pointing her fingers around every-time she said a point. Ava had told her all about her exes one day, because syd was the one she was closest to on the team.

Avalon nodded, "that one."

"You still haven't told me her name."

"Zia Cooke." Ava rolled her eyes, sipping water from her bottle. Sydney made an 'ohhhh' sound.

"Oh yeah we can easily get kate to lock her up. maybe even swing her across the stadium and to the concession stand?" Sydney casually stated, Ava snorted and looked at the older woman.

"You're hell. I actually can't stand you." The girl lied, trying to scoot away from syd. But sydney just threw her arms around the girl and gave her a big mama bear hug, moving their bodies side to side harshly.

"You love me, Lil bit." Syd stated, she suddenly let go of the girl and waved someone over, "Kate! come here white girl!"

Kate looked at the woman crazy but still walked over to her and Ava, "What's up?"
