Ayla unbuckled her seatbelt and waited as Dwayne got up and took their bag from the upper compartment. She got up when he signaled her to and followed him close behind as they descended the stairs of the airplane. He held her hand and lead her through the airport customs, making their way to the arrival lobby.

"Excited to meet the family?" Dwayne asked, looking back at her as she held onto his arm.

"Nervous actually" Ayla said.

Dwayne chuckled. "There's nothing to feel worried about, kiddo. If anything that the family is gonna feel when they see you is the feel of how could they not know you a lot sooner. Trust me, they're gonna love you"

"You really think so?" Ayla asked, unsure.

"Well, one thing you gotta know about our culture is that we Samoans are really loving creatures. Extra loving, if you may" Dwayne said, giving her a knowing look.

"DEWEY!" A voice caught their attention.

Ayla couldn't help but believe when Dwayne said Samoans are extra loving creatures when she saw at least 20 people holding up a sign for both of them.

"Who are those?" Ayla asked, her eyes widened.

"That, kiddo, is our aiga. Our family"

5 cars convoyed from the airport through the streets of Samoan Island.

Ayla couldn't stop smiling from the moment she arrived. The green and blue nature scenery was nothing like the grey man-made scenery in the States. She hung her head out of the window, feeling the fresh breeze brushing against her face.

Ayla felt a little more nervous when she felt the car slowing down as soon as they reached a house made of wood, surrounded by plants and huge trees. It wasn't the size of the house that made her nervous, but the fact that there were at least another 20 more people waiting at the front door, excluding the ones that came to pick them up at the airport earlier.

Dwayne noticed Ayla looked nervous, so he reached out his hand and gave a gentle squeeze to reassure her that everything is okay.

Ayla slid out of the car, followed by Dwayne. She followed close behind as Dwayne lead her to the entrance where she only recognized Darcy, Lachlan and Caryll, along with a few other people whom she's meeting for the first time ever.

Ayla was caught off guard when everyone started to line up and stood in front of her, including her mother and her brothers.

"Hup!" A guy yelled as he raised his hand up, the others did the same thing right after. "se'i o tatou fa'afeiloa'i ma le māfana tagata pele o lo tatou aiga"

Ayla watched wide eyed as the guy in the front yelled something in Samoan, which she couldn't understand a word that they were saying.

"Huuuu" Everyone chanted behind simultaneously, getting down on a Samoan squat with their palms rubbing each other in front of their chests. "Talofa lava, malo le soifua. Afio mai, susū mai, i le tatou aiga. Ua leva tele le taimi, talu ona e alu ese. Fa'atalofa atu, i le tatou tagata pele. Malo le soifua manuia, malo le lagi e mamā. Ua toe fa'atasi mai, ua toe fo'i mai. O le aiga e fiafia, o le loto e mālōlō. Afio mai i le mālōlōga, afio mai i le alofa. Manuia lou toe fo'i mai, manuia lou toe sau. O lou aiga, o lou nofoaga, ua fiafia e te toe sau. Tātou te fa'atasia, tātou te feiloa'i. I le filemu, i le alofa, i le mālōlōga. Talofa lava, malo le soifua. Fa'amanuia atu, i le tatou tagata pele."

Ayla watched as they bang their chests with their fists and clapped, making a perfect rhythm as they chanted in Samoan. She didn't understand a word, but whatever it is, it sure made her feel special. She wondered how long it took them to rehearse it.
