Damien's lifeless body lay still on the hospital bed. Simon had made sure to fund his entire treatment from within a state-of-the-art hospital he had constructed with some government money. He had flatlined ten times before they could get him stable, and it had became obvious that the small shard of Chrysalis embedded within his coin was the only thing keeping him alive. Zachary entered the room with a sigh,

"It's only been three days and they say your brain's grown back," He smiled gravely, "but this coma might be years long, eh? Hell, at least you've had visitors,"

Zachary gestured to the chrysanthemums that Red Riding Hood had brought in earlier that day, and he could almost feel Damien's rare true smile. He sat there in the uncomfortable hospital chair, playing a mindless game on his phone when he had the urge to put on the news. He remembered the days when the news was their only way to track down supervillains, and smiled at the memory, despite knowing that back then, some of the things they had fought had put the group through hell. Then he heard the squeak of the door opening,

"Yo, who-" Zachary was interrupted by Noctum, who gazed at the body of his friend,

"It just occurred to me," Adam said slowly, "in all the time I've had these powers, I've never been able to use them for good. I'm always being controlled by something and it's just about pissed me off to my limit,"

With that last word, Adam took off through the window, sending shards of glass everywhere. The news anchor spoke the chilling words that covered exactly what Noctum was going to do,

"In summary, Neo Nazi radicalism John Frederick haș officially taken over Austria after his four year conquest, taking government with over 250,000 casualties,"

"Fucking hell," Zachary raged, "He's gone and snapped,"

John Frederick sat rigid in the magnificent parliament building, his every whim at his very command. He had begun his first step in rebuilding his perfect Germany using his private army, which had overpowered and taken over Austria, the first of the Germanic countries he wished to unite under his reign. A butler stood beside him, a tray of fresh scones held in her outstretched left hand and a radar device held in her right. John slid a scone off the platter, using a serviette to hold it as he spread jam, then cream onto the pastry. Before he could take a bite, however, the butler gave a start,

"What do you want?" John commanded coldly, "cease your pathetic whining before I put an end to your life,"

"I apologise deeply, Fur-"

"I told you not to call me that!" John shouted, standing with such a start that the silver plate clattered to the ground, crumbly scones, "You shall refer to me as Lord Frederick, not with the same name the brilliant man who fathered my ideals was called, I am not worthy of that,"

The servant bent to the ground, picking up the scones, but John was too busy ranting to care,

"I have told you time and time again. You are such a fucking idiot!" He raged, aiming a kick to the side of the poor woman's ribcage, "Say it! Tell me that you are a fucking idiot!"

"I'm an idiot," She whispered, wincing at the pain,

"That's not what you are!" John snarled, kicking her again, harder, this time, "Tell me what you are!"

Throughout the thick sobs, the woman responded, "I'm a fucking idiot,"

"Good, good," John spoke softly now, calming down, "but for your actions, there must be consequences, tell me the news you came to bring, and I may spare your parents' lives,"

The servant swallowed the rage that poured from her very being at the reminder that he had her parents hostage within the capital city,

"The Hungarians haven't begun to strike back," she whimpered, "but something is flying towards this place at hypersonic speeds,"
